CFC banner

Umm... I don't know if this is the right forum, but since the avatar thread is here, here goes:

I'm thinking of making a CFC banner that I can use on other forums as my signature that links to CFC. Specifically, it is an anime forum. Here is what I have so far, but it is really bad...

Suggestions please...

My comments:

-Try improving the gradient between blue / red. Maybe getting a background will improve it.
-The text - try to find some font that works for both forums. The text "Civilization Fanatics Center" is too stenciled. Perhaps you could find some "curvy" or "glowing" text like on the CFC main page.
-The images - this isn't an anime forum. Maybe you could include a 'civvish' icon / graphic too? (ie; Maybe on either side of the "CFC" text?).

I'll see if I can come up with something...

edit: Here's something I came up with. Feel free to add anime-type things to it. I'm not sure about the background, so I made it pale - it doesn't look too bad, I hope.

I couldn't find a way to get the Battleship alone without a black background. I was gonna include Cheiftess too, but I ran into the same problem.
