Ah! Neat.. I wish my computer were just slightly better, I am just short of being able to playably run TF2. =(

I cannot find either of you.

I rather like DoD:Source as a quick blast on multiplayer. It doesn't feel quite as fun as original DoD though, which I could play for ages.

I don't think that's what it's about. Usually free weekends result in a lot of new people playing, (of course), and those people are not well regarded by the online people. I remember seeing a few free weekenders on TF2, and they were not treated very nicely. Mostly because they didn't know what they were doing.

I was commenting on DoD as a whole, not just the free weekend. I believe Azza was doing the same. I think I see the confusion though, poor cropping of his quote in my post :)

Free weekends are an awesome idea - very nearly got Red Orchestra because of one.

Being one of those new people playing because of the free weekend, my experience was that it is not a good game, either just for fun or for competitive play. It is, unfortunately, much more dull and repetitive than any other online multiplayer game I've played.

I played TF2 with GVBN a few minutes ago, and I have to say it was nice despite him snipering me about a thousand times. I tried to say hello but he didn't respond. Maybe it got lost in the ridiculous USA vs. England argument that was going on.

Edit: And there just may be hope for you, Azza. If GVBN was really playing from Finland, you in Australia might not be too bad.

Yeah, I didn't bother to read the chat and didn't notice you until domination

More than 100 ping is too much to play anything other than Engi effectively, but my Engi playstyle results in me leaving my buildings to help my team fight generally... :(

I tried playing on an Aussie server in CSS once, 300 ping. Europe is 200-300 ping for me (200 britain, 250 middle europe)

Servers from Greece get me 150 ping. Servers in America get me around 70 (maybe 100 on a bad day).

I used to get over 300 ping for some reason, so I'm thankful...

Man almost everyone here plays TF2, I want to see what is so fun about it...

I aim to please. :)

Are you perchance a player of TF2? Maybe you could play with our other Australian members.
