CG2: Conquest, No Transports, No Airlifting

150 BC: Ask Babylonians to leave our territory and he complies

130: Cleo demands Lit. we say no. WAR

110: moving troops, (not much of an offense for a conquest game.) Begin making spears for defense and swords for attack.

90: Hoards of Barbarian horsies attack Maco. Spear is promoted to elite for heroic defense. ROP agreement w/ France so that we can reinforce the city of Ur.

70: Egyptians attack Ur, lose 2 archers, Spearman promoted to Veteran.

50: Egyptians attack Ur, lose another archer.

30: Ur is attacked again, 2 more archers wasterd, Spearman promoted to elite.

10 BC: Another Archer dies at the hands of Urian Spears. Not looking good for the city, French troops are blocking the route for reinforcments and Egyptians appear to be massing for another attack. Egyptians finish the Great Wall in Heliopolis. Babylonian archer passes through our lands. Do not deman removal because not ready for 2 front war. Egyptians refuse our envoy.

10 AD: Ur is now in the hands of the Egyptians. Spearman and Warrior die valiantly taking along another archer and 2 warriors.

30 AD: Peace made with Egypt. Just not in position to wage war. We get 50 gold but give up Lit. Trade Lit to Japan for 40 gold. All other known civilizations pocess knowledge except Russians who got no gold.

We are currently building Great Library and Great Lighthouse and should have a good head start. Did not check but did not see any pop-up.

Of the start of the Middle Ages and China's peaceful transition into a Republic...

30 AD (0)
We haven't finished land grabbing and we have no settlers in training? Quickly start training some Horsemen and Settlers. Also push luxes up to 20% and fire our entertainers.
The Egyptians and Babylonians start the Great Library.

50 AD (1)
:cringe: Someone (pointing no fingers here ;)) left goto orders active past the end of their turn. I turn these swordsmen, who are still hurrying for the old battelfield at Ur, around.
Nottingham completes the Great Lighthouse.
Japanese and French start Great Library, the French off a Great Lighthouse prebuild. Our Great Library may well not be built in time.

70 AD (2)
Shanghai switches from the (now-built) Great Lighthouse to a Palace, hoping to nab a later wonder.
Chinan founded at the south tip of our land.
Research is speeded up (0.8.2) so that we can get The Republic in 3 turns.
Now Egypt swaps to the Library off a Lighthouse prebuild.

110 AD (4)
Discover the Republic. Revolt immediately and only 3 turns remaining on anarchy.

130 AD (5)
We trade with France, buying Currency+Construction+20g for the Republic.

150 AD (6)
A French settler enters our land (with a ROP). I run some interference hoping he won't be able to settle in our western lands.

170 AD (7)
We emerge from anarchy into the great Chinese Republic.

190 AD (8)
We trade with Egypt, buying Furs for 10gpt.
Taxes set to 5.4.1 for Feudalism in 14 turns at +5gpt.
We sell a ROP to Babylon for 2gpt+3g+WM

250 AD (11)
Egypt declares war on the French and starts building Sun Tzu's. Our research into Feudalism still has a while to go, but we can get Sun Tzu's with our prebuilds, I hope. :undecide:

260 AD (12)
Babylonians start Sun Tzu's.

280 AD (14)
Speed up research to beat Shanghai's palace building. Shanghai will almost certainly have to build Sun Tzu's.
Found Kaifeng on our west coast.
We refuse the ROP renewal with France as they have no money for us. This should hopefully slow down the French settler.

290 AD (15)
Theos retires from office.

The Republic of China...

Comments for the next player...
  • I think the biggest issue at the moment is managing our Wonders. We probably want Sun Tzu's and Sistine Chapel and we have prebuilds in place to hopefully nab both - a Palace at Shanghai for Sun Tzu's and the Great Library (which is of little value now) at Beijing. Don't waste any turns of revolt in either of these cities as every turn might be crucial. Watch for when they grow (Shanghai next turn) and push up the luxury rate if necessary.
  • Our riders are going to be available any moment now. We should build horsemen in preparation for an upgrade rather than more swordsmen. Then we can go kick some...
  • Grab the rest of the lands to our west.

Good luck!

1. 300AD

6. 360AD

7. 370AD

8. 380AD
New Beijing founded.

9. 390AD
I am trying to delay the palace in Shanghai.

10. 400AD
Starving out people in Shanghai. The russians have contact with the Romans, Greeks, English, Americans. I trade the republic+currency+construction for contacts with them+ world map. I trade some other contact with greece.

We need to delay the palace production in Shanghai. We will discover theology in 6 turns. The palace can be switched to sistine then.

The Egyptians declared war and we only had a spear and warrior defending the palce. They fought valiantly and I look at it as an "Almo" type battle. It was over as soon as all those Egyptian troops crossed the boarder. Reinforcements were held up because the French kept getting in the way

any room on the roster for 1 more, got some time on my hands now PTW been delayed in england
