If anyone wants to know, my great management skills took Cheltenham to fourth in division 1, where we were promply knocked out of the playoffs by Wolves, 4 - 1
Allright, I cannot find CM in the US! I'd order it online, but want to know a bit more. The wife is buying herself a new garden planning software, I thought I could take the opportunity to get something equally relevant...
First of all, is it an easy game to learn? I don't mean easy to beat, but at least to figure out what is happening, and what I must do to improve?
Does it matter much what year's version I buy? Is any one version better than the others?
Thanks for the replies, my $$$ are itching to escape my wallet...
There will be a new version coming out at Christmas which will be Championship manager 4. If you don't want to wait then I'd go for Cm01/02 (Most recent) or Cm00/01 since I think they both have the option to play a USA league. Try looking at www.cm3.com for more info.
Its quite an easy game to play but it takes about half an hour before you reach the first game, and thats usually a friendly so you need to be patient. Tactics vary for each team but generally you should have some success with a 4-4-2 formation. You can make it easy on yourself by picking a really good team as they are much more likely to succeed. So if you find it too hard initially you can choose a better team.
Well I'm in my 6th season with Cheltenham. 2 seasons in Division 3, 2 seasons in division 2 and I'm in my second season in division 1. I also won the League cup this season winning in extra time against Wolves
