Change to vanilla home screen?

Hi everybody!
This is a bit of a return for me - I had an ancient account here (since Civ II, I think) but seem to have lost track of what email was using it. <ultimate sadness>

Anyway, after being a dyed-in-the-wool CIV fan, I finally got bit by VI and am loving every minute of it. But after installing the gathering storm expansion I noticed the home screen changed. I really miss the classic rotating compass from vanilla - I find it's peaceful rotations soothing to look at before jumping into the game.

My question is: Does anyone know of a way (via .ini or otherwise) to bring back the original screen while still using the expansion? I cannot find anything in the game settings.

I’m sure there is a way to do this, though I personally can’t advise how. I can also state that it will most likely not be in the game settings currently.
A similar request was made for CiV towards the end of its life, and people posted tutorials on how to swap game files around to get the old music/screen.
