I am curious about how I could change the movement rate of certain units. I really would like to see all Naval Units get a solid 100% movement rate increase. Stealth Bombers IMO should also get a huge increase in the range they can attack from.

Anyways, if someone could point me in the direction of a post or some info on how to make these changes, I would be greatful.

Thanks in advance!!!!:goodjob:

CIV4UnitsInfo.xml

I believe the tag you want to change is <iMoves> for movement, and <iRange> for air range, though that's from memory.

THanks for the start, but could you add a little more to your post to get me going. Programming is not second nature to me (at this point).

Anyways, how do I find this file and how do I open/make changes to it?

Thanks again in advance.

Like TGA said, but it will be changes for each unit, not %s for types of units. You can change galley from 2 to 4 easy enough there.

That file will be in your Civ4\Assets\XML\Units folder. You can either use Wordpad or download XML Marker (which I did) to modify XML files. Up to you whether or not to change core files or to put this into Custom Assets or even make a Mod out of these changes. I never change core files personally. For additonal help check TGA's sig for the CivIV wiki site. It has some good info.

"Civ4\Assets\XML\Units"

I am at work so I can't go find this file right now. I believe it should be simple enough to find this file. As to opening it and changing it. I really do want to make this change perminent. I just want to make a change so when I feel like playing with a slightly modded ruleset, I can. So, yes, I probably want this to be a simple mod.

Anyways, if I figure out where this file is and then figure out how to open it in word, notepad, etc. Can I simply type in new values in place of the old ones? Once that is done, how to I save the changes and where do I save them? Do I create a new folder, put them in a mod folder, or what? Anyways, I feel like my head is slightly spinning :crazyeye:
