What do you guy think about cheats in Civ V? do you think they should add in the same cheating system that civ 4 had or a better one with more cheats? Do you also think there should be a world editor in-game just like the one in Civ 4 when you press ctrl-w?

I think just having a world editor like civ4 would be enough for cheats.

not really, i like the cheat where I can just get my gold by holding down shift + 4 and watch it raise to a limit, and to cheat build by pressing +, even shift + = and get my culture to able developed. That's why I like civilization 4 better then civ 3 is because I don't have to use a trainer at all, it's all in the game. That save me time from trying to find the right trainer for the right version...

The few times I've tried any cheats in Civ games, I've found that it completely destroys my motivation to continue the game. The challenge is gone and thus the pleasure of gaming is gone.

There is no point in cheating whatsoever. If you really can't be asked to play properly, stick it on Settler and WB 1000 nukes for yourself.

or we can have cheats and every cheater will love to play this game, while those who do not like cheats can just play the game without turning them on.

I suppose, if you actually like no-strategy-whatsoever games.

I hope they don't even have an in-game world editor. The whole cheating thing just ruins a game. You lose everything that made the game draw you in. In fact, you're only screwing yourself when you cheat. The whole reward thing that makes games enjoyable goes away. You're left with some boring repetitive task.

An in game editor is an absolute must.
Simply becouse it is a great tool for moders to check our new snipets of code without having to play through the whole game.

I really hope there isn't an in-game WB. i know people who started using it incessantly and stopped playing the game the real way as soon as they found it. And then bragged about the high scores they got after pwning everybody extremely early with WB. never heard of the other cheats.

They have confirmed there will be a stand alone world builder, so I don't think they'd have an in game one aswell. I tried cheats before I knew what I was doing, and it definetly ruined the game for me, like another poster said. It took me a while to finally man up, and play it right, but now I don't ever consider cheating. If a game goes so badly that I'd need to cheat, I will just start a new one. I feel dirty knowing I had to put in 20 tanks to win, and can't play anymore.

If multiplayer servers use VAC, not confirmed either way, then if you use cheats designed not to be in the official game, you will find yourself in a sticky situation.

I did confirm that VAC is not being used.

have cheats, don't have cheats, I'm not really bothered

although

(I'm pretty sure steam will vac ban you for having any sort of cheats on your computer when you play games on steam so you might be able to play civ multiplayer after downloading un-official cheats, but you won't be playing l4d or counterstrike nemore.)

There is no cheating in single player. Why people bother telling other people how they should play the game? If the man has fun cheating, let him be.
