Checking in after 6 months not playing CIV5

Just coming in to check if anything has changed for CIV5. I was insulted by how bad the game was at release and for the first few months afterwards but as CIV4 was my favorite ever game I want to check back in. I could guess by the top thread being a rants thread but has it improved or is it the problem of trying to polish a turd? I would be especially interested in improvements in diplomacy as I enjoyed this so much in BTS. Just looked at the mods page and it has the same mods as 6 months before still seem not to be working very well. Thanks

Moderator Action: Fire it up, and try it out.
After you did that, you're welcome to open a new thread to discuss specific aspects and if or if not you think they have improved.
But not in such a way here. These "wildcard threads" to talk about all and nothing will nearly always degrade into a rant thread. And we already have one of these.
So try it out, and be more specifc.
But please not again like this here.
