Chicken Itza: What is the point?

I got pretty good use out of Chichen Itza today, I had stone so it was only about 25 turns on marathon. I was bordered by Toku, Monty, Napoleon, and Shaka - thats probably a good situation to build it.

OK, in such a situation, building it is probably a vry good idea... Even though there is Tokugawa to divert the psychos...

I really fail to see which is the difficulty in undestanding the Chichen Itza.
Lame simple, either it gives you more turns to reinforce a sieged city or counter attack the siegeing stack (collatral damage, flanking), or it gives you +25% defence defending it, which is not little help. Otherwise, when attacking, it gives the attacked city more time to get reinforced (AI's slaves its pop to do this), which means more chances that you as the attacker will loose more units conquering it. So, unless you carry a huge amount of siege weapons enough to take all the cities defences in one turn with and without the +25% (and provided they are not flanked to death), the advantage of this wonder is pretty obviuos.. huu!!!!
Needless to say, this bonnus intensifies a lot in a multiplayer game where human strategy is much tougher.

Actually, anyone who claims that there is no use for this wonder is very much underestimating his/her gameplay; and should raise at least a couple of levels of difficulty.

Just load WB and you can see for yourself.

Even easier: just think about it. Where does the Pizza bonus show up in the combat? Does it increase city % or does it simply show up in the combat calculator (like a promotion bonus)?

Anyway yes it works and yes it's pretty cool.

Ok I just tested this... it's not true. Here's the "before" picture, with no defense. The attack odds are 0.5

Here's the same warrior attacking, but this time they have chitzen itza. The +25 is clearly visible in the city's defenses. The odds are now 0.2.

And now I've used trebuchets to take away that +25. Chitzen Itza is still there, but it's doing nothing. The attack odds are once again 0.5.

Its a great wonder to start and then not finish so you can get lots of gold - it has a high cost so the closer you get, the more gold you recieve

Well, I feels that it is kinda like SoZ... Crappy for own use but sucks when my swordsman / axeman are attacking an AI which built it.

The only situation which I will build it (with chopping and whipping) is if for some reason, the AI I am planning to attack with swords/axes has CoL and is a known wondermonger.

Awesome, thanks for testing this. This agrees with my memory too... it seems like whenever an enemy has the Chicken Pizza, I simply see a higher initial defense rating but still take the exact same number of turns to bombard it down to zero, and it's a true zero. So yep, Chicken Pizza is worthless defensively unless there's not any bombardment going on.

Ehhhhhhhhhh.. no man.
