No don't worry, I'm not going to rant and rave about the limit to run for offices or anything, this is more about
1) interpritation of the COS and
2) cleaning it up to fit new rule changes

Currently COS section 6 looks thus: (I have edited out bits that don't apply here)

6. Eligibility
Current officials are eligible to run for President.
(Officials include the Presidency, Vice Presidency, Department Leaders, Department Deputies, Judiciary and Provincial Governors)

Incumbent leaders may run for 1 position in each election cycle. Other citizens may run for 2 positions in each election cycle.

Each citizen may hold multiple deputy positions (Vice President, Departmental Deputy).

Now, my question is two fold. Firstly, why are Depdy (Lt.) Governors not classified as leaders, but Departmental Depudies are so. Second (and this may already have been answered) can depudies run for two positions in an election? If so they have it sweet, two positions AND can run for prez!

I propose a re-writing of the first paragrah to include Depudy Governors.

This discussion is in light of recent changes to the COL to allow Governers to have depudies. (COL D1B)

You can find the books HERE

Good point, AJ.

I agree, Deputy Governors should be counted as equals with Deputy Leaders.

I would also agree on having the Lt Govenors (Deputy Govenors) having the same privlages as Department Deputies :).

Agreed. It's only logical ;-)

Personally, I don't get the point of leaders only being able to be in one election at a time.

Plexus, it's kind of an attempt to trim or restrain the "good ole boy" club. When current Leaders are restricted to running for one office, it keeps them from dominating the entire election theater.

yea, but it is also hard for people trying to move up in the government, they don't want to lose their current position but they also want a shot at running for a higher office.

I think deputy governors aren't classified as leaders because they aren't elected. Departmental deputies are the runners up in the elections while lt. govs are appointed by the govs. A good reason to keep them classified differently. though I seem to recall something about a recent last minute appointment that resulted in a presidential cadidate...

Donsig,
COS G9 A1 explicitly states that in governorship elections the candidate with the second highest number of votes is appointed depudy! There is NO difference in process between the appointment of a depudy leader and a depudy governor!

Hmmm... I guess I'm suffering from Old Man on a Porch syndrome. Guess I'm really still back in the old days when deputy governors were anathema.

I believe that this clause already assumes governors deputies. The parenthesis simply give an example of things that apply.

And if deputy governors could not run for president, a former deputy governor of Bohemia Shaitan has a presidential office to hand over to me :D

as governors are "department" leaders, the deputy governors are department deputies. their department is their province.
no change needed.

i also noticed for the first time that the deputies ARE allowed to run in multiple elections :-) i thought they are not till now ;-)

@donsig:
strange. shaitan, you and me seem to be victims of rule-amnesia this game :-)
