Citizen Group: National Religious Organization

I mean a lot of this depends on our starting situation. If we start with a Mysticism Civilization then we should push for meditation IMMEDIATELY. But if we get a non Mysticism civilization it is quite likely We'll miss the time crunch for those first two, Hind and Bud. Its possible to grab Jud, but I generally have found it more convenient to take a non-religious tech route the leads to Philosophy or Code of Laws. Confucianism in particular seems to come up again and again as an ideal religion time and achievable wise for non-Mystic civs.

Will we push to convert our neighbor's backward beliefs and try to set in motion a holy war to liberate their people?

How about we try to discover as much religion as we can.

Are we to prioritize missionaries to spread the religion than other productions?

Its all a matter of what the group thinks, but a lot of time I feel as though these questions are directed at me. Personally, Holy War = Bad Idea. Once they take a religion where all their cities belong to it, they are lost to us. I have found that a civ will convert to first religion spread to lands, but will also convert again if another religion later exists in more of their cities then the first. But once we lose a civ, I'm more worried about internal cultural improvement, war is quite unnecessary. I am personally am an extreme pacifist and rarely agree with any military action in civilization. I believe in dominance without war. With culture, economy, and technology, we can ovverwhelm other nations without touching them. And Missionaries are EXTREMELY important and must be utilized to quickly and effectively target and convert civilizations and our own border towns (so that border towns will get free cultural growth)

I'll join.

I would like to become a member of the NRO. Is there anything other than putting it in my sig that I will needed to do?

I wish to lend my little minisucle non-meaniful support to your party

I dedicate my life for the Divine Task of founding the Holy City!
"For the greater Good!"

I'm all with Nomad Bryce on the Holy War= Bad thing unless we get more out of it than just a holy war. It also seems that you people support religion, hey, so does the Destiny Party... Hmmmm... You might wanta check that out... Maybe.... See Sig link.... j/k:lol:

Oh... Heretics= SO:ar15:

I feel compelled to state the Communist support of spreading peaceful relations (Religion being a main method of improving foreign affairs) since all the other partys are doing it :P

oops, i started a party battle:lol:

I would also like to state the MOO suports this organization IF AND ONLY IF we are Hindu. Cows are sacred after all.

PS I am not in MOO :)

I would like to note that although the NRO thread is currently dormant, when it comes time for a census we will become active once more. Simply because there is nothing further to discuss in pregame preparation does not mean that active participation will be unnecessary when the game begins.

I'll join, a bit late. I just can't live without a religion. In one game, Saladin founded Christianity and Confucianism, switched to Confucianism, and Christianity spread to my cities. I managed to spread it to 37% of the world after that. In the end, the only other Christian leader had three cities.

Also, I never leave Organized Religion or Theocracy even after Free Religion. Those +25%/2exp are worth it.

I have question for anyone with the patch: do you have line of sight on cities that share your state religion and you have the holy city of that religion?

The game I'm playing right now the first one after I installed the patch, I have the holy city of Buddhism and almost all rival cities have Buddhism, I’ve been prolific with missionaries, yet I don not have line of sight one any of them, and Buddhism is my state religion.
