So I ques there is already a thread for this question even though I couldn't find it, but my question is: How do you know how many inhabitants there are in a city based on the number of citizens?

The reason why I'm asking is because about a hour ago I played as Spain and I was in a war with the Chinese peps. My plan for winning the war (and the game) was to build some Atomic Bombs :nuke: and drop them on some high priority Chinese cities. >25 turns later I had a aircraft carrier filled with nukes in "Beijing Bay" and let the destruction rain upon the citizens of Beijing :nya:. After I'd nuked the city with 3 a-bombs and then conquered it the once 28:c5citizen: capitol only had one citizen left :mischief:. I am trying to imagine the horror and devastation I've caused with my evil, evil deeds and I would like to know exactly how many innocent persons I've killed that day in 1983 (the year I nuked 'em).

So if anyone could be so polite and give me a way to calculate the amount of inhabitants in a city based on its citizens or link me another thread that already explains this, that would be great.

Take your city size, and raise it to the 2.8th. Multiply this by 1000. Then round the product to the nearest thousand.

round1000( 1000 * CitySize ^ 2.8 )

You killed over 11 million people that day. Or precisely, 11,273,000 people.

Thanks for the quick answer.

Wow, 11 000 000 persons, that's more than my country's total population :wow:.
Btw, I imagined it would take my forces more than a day to arrive at and conquer Beijing even though I pulverized the city. So it's rather
11 251 000 persons in a day. But that's still a impressive number, no offense imaginary former inhabitants of in-a-game-of-civilization 5 Beijing :cooool:.

...well the next time I get penalised for having a couple of specialists I'm going to think "Cmon, surely 12 million of you can support these two guys?!!"

seriously, thanks for the answer - I've often wondered but couldn't be bothered to note values and regress.

Yup 1/6 of the casualties of WW2. You must be proud man

Though if you have nuked Beijing in truth you would need to multiply this tenfold or so :mischief:
