Does anyone have a break down of what all the city icons are?

(Hour glass, hammer, gold coins, star, etc etc)

Some of them seem pretty self explanatary... some not so much.

I cant find it anywhere in the manual or stragety guide.

Thanks everyone!

Star = Forbidden Palace or Versailles

Quite [offtopic] but, too much of it here this year... my snowbanks are almost as tall as I am (6') :aargh:

I think Gold is Capital, Silver is FP or Versailles.

Star = Government center, either Forbidden Palace or Versailles. Nearby cities will have lower maintenance costs.

Red unhappy face = Unhappy and non-productive citizen(s).
Green unhealthy face (Mr. Yuck) = Unhealthy city (1 Food lost per unhealthy point).

Hammer = Your city producing the most hammers.
Beaker = Your city producing the most science.
Gold coins = Your city producing the most commerce.

Three arrows in a triangle = City is connected to your trade route and shares resources with other connected cities.

Religious symbol icons = Which religions have infected the city. Icon with gold star means city is holy city for that religion.

Lightning bolt = City has power for its factory.

The Castle (looks like an hourglass) = Cities defense rating, due to improvements like walls, or due to culture at +20% per level of the cities cultural expansion.

Red fist and # in parenthesis = City is in revolt and number of turns to return to normal.

I think that's all correct. :)

Innawerkz, I have a friend, a girl in Ottawa, I'll visit her in the late spring, heheh!

Oh so all's clear, so what's the hourglass about then?

The grey castle, which looks like a chess rook, is followed by the cities defensive bonus. Any units in the city that are allowed defensive bonuses have that modifier adjusted to their strength rating when defending the city. This number can be reduced due to bombardment.

Be a nice break, I'm sure. Never been to PEI. Nice place to live? Even in the winter?

Sahkunder: As far as I know, you are 100% correct. Thanks for consolidating that here.

Heh, well we've had about a cm of snow... twice. Increadible, eh? Well camping in winter doesn't frigten me, though camping in the middle of the desert does :O

@sahkuhnder, oh the "black thing" yeah that means the city has a defensive bonus or two or three, or etc... ;)

It would be great to have some sort of guide for what the different buildings actually looked like in the zoomed city view. This way when you zoom in on someone elses city you wouldn't have to guess what the buildings you can see in there really are. Some are easy to guess, others, not so much.
