City Production Questions

That is a good trick.

Will the Production overflow accumulate for several turns if I build military units consecutively?

For example, lets say I have 300 production for military units and I train four 100 Production units.
Will I accumulate 800 Production over the course of 4 turns and then purchase 800 Production worth of building in one turn?

If you read that other thread, overflow is capped at max(cost of what you're building, base hammers).

So, say you get 70 base hammers, you will never have more than 70 overflow hammers to carry forward (the rest is converted to gold, although it's converted to gold WITH all the production modifiers). Basically, you never get more than 1 "extra" turn from carry-over.

I see.
That explains why my gold is accumulating every turn despite having a negative gold for research.

Thank you for the explanations guys. :)

The max overflow hammers is limited to the production cost of the item that you are building currently. Hammers beyond that are converted to gold on a ONE to ONE ratio-better than building wealth. So in your example of producing a unit that costs 100 hammers, in the first turn you would produce a unit, create 100 overflow hammers(equal to the production cost of the unit), and 100 gold. In subsequent turns you would produce the unit, create 100 overflow, and 200 gold.

Vale has examples of this in his thread in the second post. He also has links to Sisiutil's game where Sisiutil 'exploited' the gold conversion for a productive leader with access to stone when building walls.
