City-State Bonuses?

Playing the game now, and I've befriended a maritime city-state (just friendly atm...it's so expensive to become allies). The bonus is suppose to be +2 to the capital and +1 to every other city, but I'm not seeing those bonuses when I mouseover the food details in any city: is anyone else having this problem?
Edit: Answered my own question, the food benefits are show directly on the city square of each city, so it's just part of your worked tiles (and not labeled specifically as a bonus). Probably could have made that more transparent...
