Men, women, and citizens of Metro. The last few weeks have been marked with bank robberies, attacks on hospitals, and bomb threats. All of them, every single one, has had the attackers using the Metro Soviet's name. And all of attacks the Soviet did deny involvement in. After all, why would the Soviet try to harm the community, when it has given frequent announcements regarding its efforts toward bring peace and order? Of course the answer is that we didn't do it. We have the records to prove it. So why have we called you here today? To deny our involvement in the bomb threat on the hospital? Well, yes and no. Of course we will deny our involvement in it. But we have something more important. The information about who is planning it, and who did all the crimes.

In the river there exists a ruined shell of a building, the Hotel Victoria. This lawless and corrupt place of prostitution and gambling is the child of the man Curtis Roscoe. As we know, he escaped the destruction of his hotel and fled, wounded. He is also an open criminal, saying "He is to crime as France is to war." That is, they both do it horribly. At the hospital, a few days ago, the Metro Soviet Police joined forces with the Council police to bring down the attackers. The Soviet arrested five of the criminals. During interrogations three days ago every single one admitted allegiance with the Green Knight Syndicate and that Curtis Roscoe has planned it.

This mass-murdering criminal saw a chance to make a quick buck and at the same time ruin our reputation. After all, who would try to squash criminal activity more than communists? So thus he tried, and since we have the info, failed. Unfortunately, he avoided an ironic end at the hands of the Sjyvy Jymra and is now on the run. So, you may ask, why not leave him to his fate with the Sjyvy Jymra? Why? Because we are better than him. That, and a quick death, while violent, and the hands of the Sjyvy Jymra would not pay for all the lives he helped take.

So the Soviet has a better plan. Upon his capture, we will seize all his funds. Now, it is common knowledge that criminals get the food they have to eat in prison for free. After all, most aren't that rich. However, Mr. Curtis Roscoe on the other hand, is. He will be given a life sentence, and the Soviet will take the seized funds and make him pay for his meals. Now, let's say it is $3 per meal. Well, that is $9 a day. There are 365 days in a year, so for a full year it would cost $ 3285. Let's say he lives for 30 more years. Just a little less than $100,000. All paid in advance. Now, what will the Soviet do with his money? All will be spent on improving the local area, helping the community he tried to tear apart. Now wouldn't that be a fitting end for him?

So, we ask you all to be on the lookout for this mass murderer. The Soviet Police will be watching out for him as well. And with that, we will bid you good day. And a big thank you to the Evil Media Empire, which we hope its name is a joke, for broadcasting this for us. And I think you will find they have the same thing to say on this matter.

Well you heard it first here folks. Our own investigations into the events have shown that it was indeed Green Knight forces that were trying to cause chaos in the streets. But I'm afraid that isn't all. Curtis Roscoe has been fighting a shadow war of evil. We currently are unsure who did it first, but a highly addictive agent has been placed in many food products and drinking water. Yes I'm afraid that many of us have been addicted to a unknown drug. Curtis Roscoe was causing chaos to try and take control of this drug manufacture to use it as leverage to rule the city. The lengths he went to were all for his own power hungry ways.

If you have been suffering anxiety, shortness of breath, twitching, hunger or any other symptom that could be linked to drug withdrawal go see a doctor at the hospital now. With a security force already there due to the now, hopefully defunct, bomb threat, they should be able to handle people as they get checked out.

What is still a mystery is why the Green Knights were allowed to run rampant. When Curtis Roscoe was giving orders to "Paint the Streets Red with their blood!" (Curtis Roscoe, on Sjyvy Jymra) the police were assaulting a gun factory to better weaponise themselves. With so few people even having weapons this seems crazy, the Sjyvy Jymra in particular only have rocks and knifes to arm themselves! With a few home made Molotov cocktails. People on street feel that the Police allowed poor innocents to die so that the rich could be protected. Perhaps a harsh feeling, but certainly understandable given the extreme circumstances.

We here at EME have no pity for Curtis Roscoe. Inside informats reveal that at the start of the major war with Sjyvy Jymra, Mr Roscoe specifically said to slaughter any reporters found in the Grey Zone and to not care about civilian casualties. This is was not a man in our mist, but a monster. We honour the sacrifices of our noble reporters to bring you this truth so that you know that this is not a being that should be sheltered. If you know where this monster is, FLEE! And call for help. We certainly find nothing wrong with the Metro's plan of taking his money and giving it back to his victims.

But still to come is the most astonishing truth of all. One of the reporters survived the Grey Zone Masacre and was sheltered by someone within the zone itself. There he learnt the secrets and history of the Sjyvy Jymra group and I have here a note that we are trying to get a camera crew into the Grey Zone live for a arranged meeting with a highly placed individual!

Events Update #5:​

Raymond Fiegler stared at the loss before him.
So far, the Revolution had gone well - a joint force of ArrowCo and City Police members, armed with the full arsenal of their respective organizations, had been joined by numerous members of Metro University, including Dr. Mogadishu, and began marching upon the hospital, where, if all went well, they would be joined by Metro General's staff.

All, however, had not gone well.

Greeted by a mob several thousand strong, the Revolution forces had begun an assault to claim the building, but to no avail. The militants were decimated, and survivors from within reported seeing the bodies of Curtis Roscoe and Dr. Fox, slain in the violence. Faced with the futility of the situation, the chief of police had ordered a retreat, marching across the river.

The mob, however, was not so easily deterred - despite attempts to defend, and later destroy, the bridge by ArrowCo soldiers, the Revolution forces were overwhelmed, and much of the Southern District has been overwhelmed by the mob. The followers of Hi'iaka have also joined the fray, quickly aiding the mob after the Metro Soviet assaulted their textile factory. Clearly a part of the Revolution, the Soviets also joined the House of Black and White in destroying the eastern bridges into the north of the city.

To the eastern edge of Metro, the Cosmopolitan Security Bureau, armed with weapons left on "loan" when the police fled, has announced its early negotiations with Sjyvy Jymra leadership, leaving the much-expanded Gray Zone under the joint control of the two organizations.

With the police absent, Dr. Stein's order has retaken the Gun Factory, and has begun constructing labor camps, in which, it is claimed, many apparently missing civilians can be seen toiling.

As the day boils on to late afternoon, the city has been effectively divided into three regions: the Gray Zone, occupying much of the northeast; the Southern District, under control of revolutionaries and largely across the river; and the northwestern portion of the city, still under apparent control of the two remaining Council members, Mr. Novak and Andrzejek Ryszard.

Welcome to this breaking news! Behind me is a current map of Metro City as it dives headfirst into another war. The Council has fractured, for reasons unknown, they had not let allowed a reporter into their confidence. But what we can say is that the break away group seems to be lead by the chief of police, the leader of Arrow industries and the Metro Soviets. Calling themselves a revolution this group has come to the conclusion that the city will not have enough food to last out the winter and that the river will not get cleared in time. Their assault on the bridges have certainly made it impossible to make the river the center of our imports once more. If you haven't already people i'd start growing your own vegetables pronto!

They would have succeeded and left numerous innocents to starve if it hadn't been for the reckless assault on the Hospital, for reasons unknown this was one of the major attacks before the retreat across the river. Due to thousands of people trying to get themselves checked for a drug addiction the crowd there was huge. It is unsure who egged the crowd into a riot of if it even needed egging with so many slain by the very police that were sworn to protect them. Rumours have Nazi's, Greys and even the religious cultists within the crowd being the ones who started it but none of this can be proven.

The resulting riot has destroyed even more of the city. A source from beyond the bridge has given reports that all but three of the bridges have been burned or broken down by shadowy individuals. The parts now littering the river even more. Of those remaining three fighting is said to be still ongoing, covering them with blood. But while the violence has escalated along the water front in other area it has calmed. The remaining council members in the north-west have been left clear of the riot and with the bank in their possession they are the only remaining bastion of economy to trade with the outside world. Although with Mr Novak missing, presumed dead, it is left to the one surviving elected representative of the people to bring order. The Eastern Grey Zone has been quelled and word has it that a alliance is brewing with the security group that guards this very building. We could be looking at three new city states rising from the ashes, the capitalist North-West Council, the Eastern Military State Grey Zone and the Southern Communist area below the river. Word has it that there are already plans to do away with money entirely in the south as they place all priority on food and resources.

But within this mess three neutral zones are still there. Our own Media Empire building lies on the new boundary between the Council and Grey areas. The old University is right in the center of this madness, and while reports state that the students originally wished to join the Revolution they appear that they could be abandoned in the Communist retreat and the burning of the bridges. Finally the Nazi Compound is becoming fortified as rumours of slavery surface. Alarmingly we have received word that the Nazi's managaed to retake their gun factory mostly intact. If so then they have the only source capable of producing guns, and more importantly, bullets! Yes all sides may have a few firearms but they don't have the supplies to keep firing them. If the Nazi's manage to find a stable source of metals to make their own they could be a powerful force.

We hope that all sides of this drama will honour the neutrality and truth seeking of the EME reporters, we will be sending out people to each side to get their view of events. If a side tries to stop the truth, well it shows that they want to keep their people ignorant doesn't it. Well WE don't want you ignorant! We want you strong and knowing of the troubles to come.

In smaller news before we go, EME is looking for bicycles, any person who brings one to the EME building will be rewarded. Also later tonight we will be having a special on how to build your own radio reciever from a box of scraps. Finally, strange messages scrawled on the city walls with lines like "He Lives" and "Deliver us".

This just in, In fact the Council forces hold the port on the south side of the river, what they will do there is unknown but the fighting is obviously more advanced then even we knew! Will some of the boats survive? Its not like they can be used for trade anymore. The bridges thought to be collapsed are either still workable or our source was mistaken, reports now state that SIX of the original ten bridges are functional, although what that means in a city like this is unknown. Also thousands of students survived an exodus to the Southern part of the city, hopefully someone down there can give them some shelter as they are officially homeless!

The Metro Soviet is hereby standing down. We were misled by the false promises the insane chief of police made. Our forces were lied to and this Revolution only seeks to bring death to this city. This Soviet would like to extend this order to any of the Revolution forces who don't want to fight.

INTERVIEW WITH THE CHIEF OF POLICE​

AS: "Hello and I'm Alice Summer. We have with us here the Chief of Police who has also agreed to protect the neutrality of the Reporters. Obviously, don't shoot the messenger, as a moral concept still exists in all places but the dead heart of the Green Knights. We are glad we have this moment here with you. I think what everyone wants to know is why these things happened?"

RF: "The city council didn't even do anything. We didn't elect the council, it was just a collection of the strongest people in the city that had survived the chaos by the skin of their teeth. Then what did they do? Argue about Taxes and zoning rights. Zoning laws! At a time like this! Taxes? So much money has left the city because of the failed economic policies. It was all a mess."

AS: "Surely there was a legal way to go forward?"

RF: "I tried. But no-one in the council wanted to address the problem. It wasn't functioning. It couldn't work, the Council clearly had no idea what the problems were. Since there were irresolvable differences, why not go out separate ways?"

AS: "Through a armed revolt?"

RF: "It was never supposed to be violent, or even a rebellion. It was supposed to be a peaceful relocation. The north could focus all they want on utilities and idiocy while the south could focus on survival. The problem is survival, that is what should be focused on. Given there was no city government, I don't see how it is rebellion. I didn't vote for them! We just wanted to leave. The south is barely populated so we could set things up properly down here without inconviencing people too much."

AS: "So it was all planned?"

RF: "The organizations south of the river belonged to members of the "revolution" anyway. The police, students, and medical staff had been moving south. The plan was to lock down things until the immediate crisis had resolved itself. Put everyone who can work to growing crops. After the first winter, we would've shifted to industry. Namely textiles for export."

AS: "Where did it go wrong"

RF: "The Hospital, when my forces tried to take some resources south the people panicked and attacked trying to horde it all. The Doctor and leader of the Hospital was with us! We had the legal right to take those products with us and he was there to help us know what was important to take. The mob killed the staff qualified to use those resources so they show the stupidity of mob mentality without a true leader. They were the ones that started all this. But that's okay, down south we have the medical students. We can still rebuild. Here in the South."

AS: "So what do you want now?"

RF: "Either a vote for a true leader of the city. A mayor who can hold sole power and lead a unified city through the maddness. Or... If that is rebuffed then a peaceful seccession. We don't HAVE to fight! Just let us rule ourselves in the south and they can have the north. We could be peaceful neighbours. If the Councilor in the north things he can run things better his way he can prove it, and we will see who will last out the winter."
