Mr. Ogilvie has announced his intentions to beef up security at the First Metro Bank. He reasoned that the strategic neutrality of the bank and its ultimate mission to uplift all citizens might deter violence, but apparently not. Bulletproof glass will protect the tellers, while the number of security guards is to be increased; they are to be armed and will be instructed to use lethal force if anyone should pull a weapon. The doors to the bank are also to become bulletproof, and blast-resistant with time; if there is a threat of a robbery, tellers will be able to press the panic button which will lock the doors shut and thus prevent a swarm like that which came from the van.
Mettrade will also be increasing its security, but given that its assets are not as readily liquid, there is not going to be as harsh measures.
Mr. Ogilvie and Igel Corporation express their condolences for Cosme Machado's untimely demise, and hope those responsible for his death shall be brought to justice. Though Machado was a criminal, Mr. Ogilvie states that as every person lost is another's friend, brother, son, etc. it is always a tragedy.
"That college students are driven towards crime is an indicator of the poor socioeconomic state of our society. Freedom from Want and Freedom from Fear are inherently connected; it is often those with the most want who will create the most fear. We should not only see this incident as a justification for increasing security, but for ensuring society's most destitute do not feel the need to turn to crime."
