When installing civilization 3 complete on my computer i get an error message. It installs about halfway fine untill it reaches C:\...\Firaxis Games\ Civilization III Complete\Art\Movies\Race.bik. It stops and then an error message comes up saying "Error 1305. Error reading from file C:\...\Firaxis Games\ Civilization III Complete\Art\Movies\Race.bik. verify that the file exists and that you can access it." I can then click retry, which does nothing or cancel. My guess is that the cd is old and broken but it may be something else.

Mine Does The Same except it stops at:
C:\...\Firaxis Games\ Civilization III Complete\Art\Movies\CivComplete.blk

The File Is Missing From My Disk!?

That's weird..Because I have CivIIIComplete too and my disc doesn't have that file too...But it still installed correctly.

Okay, I have an extremely similar problem, except that it stops at Al_c02.flc. It's an old disc, so it has some scratches, but nothing that bad. I'll concede that it might be unreadable at some point, but I want to know how to get around this. I tried renaming another .flc to Al_c02.flc and leaving it in the same folder, but apparently CivIIIComplete just ignores it, as the same error popped up. Is there anything I can do short of buying a new copy of Civ III? I already bought Vanilla, and I'm not going to buy another copy of Complete.

And I'm trying to install it on an XP; completely different from my Alienware running Vista.

There's probably some kind of store around there that does scratch repair. Or you can go to Target or WalMart and get a scratch repair kit, that should help.

Im not so sure if it it a scratch problem any more. Whenever I open the disk it has the art file with everything in it under the catagory "files ready to be written to the cd". Everything else is under the category "files currently on the CD". Whenever I click on Write These Files to CD it says "This disk is not a writable CD or it is full". Is there a way I can fix this without buying a new copy?
