Civ 3 Gold Edition Will Not Run!

OK, here we go... I installed Civ 3 Gold the other day, everything works out fine in the installation process. OK, I run the game but for some reason the game sends me back to the desktop after the intro movie is played. I get no error message. I try to start up the game again, but now it won't even give me a hint of loading up. I look in task manager and the game is running (Civilization3x.exe). OK, I entered a refresh rate of 72hrz in the ptw.ini. Still won't work. I run the game on windows 95 and 98 compatibility. It won't work. I install the game under windows 95 compatibility. It freakin won't work. As far as I know, everything is updated! I use to be able to run the game on my previous computer which was almost exactly like this one except with less memory, smaller monitor, diff sound card, and smaller vid card.

if you have a firewall shut it down or allow civ to run.

still will not run. The .exe is still there in task manager...running in at about 7,000 k.


EDIT: Ok, well it now decides it wants to run but I get a new error!
