Civ 3 lag is unplayable

My Civ 3 Complete lags so horribly, its like 2fps. It used to run perfectly fine until not so long ago and it just like broke. I tried reinstalling the game twice but still nothing. Not sure what to do, if anyone has ideas id love to hear them.

What settings are you using, and does the lag show up right away, or does it show up when you hit the modern period with lots of airports, harbors, and commercial docks?

Dude its happening to me too. I was just about to make a thread about it. Google has nothing and I reinstalled it twice as well. Its lame!

For some clarity, its extreme lag right away. Map size doesnt matter, number of civs. The second the game starts its just bad fps. Theres massive delay when you click on a unit and give it an order, or when you try to scroll the screen. Its unplayable.

I feel like it should be included in an FAQ or something, but the font fix is already stickied so I feel it would be redundant.
