I have a question regarding artwork, and conversions.

Does the Civ V artwork (meaning all the artwork available for download for Civ V on Civfanatics), will that directly work with Civ VI?

Or does it need to be converted/upgraded like from Civ 4 to 5?

Same with Icons? Can we use the same method we used in Civ 5 to create dds files at the same resolution?

I have been looking at terrain elements and its not that easy, the file sizes as is the pixel sizes used are different. In Civ 6 they use a 512 x 512 Heightmap for the hills, in Civ 5 they use a 128 x 128 size.

Also the file formats are kind of wacky, the heighmap for terrain in civ 6 used an undocumented R8_UNORM format. The same files in civ 5 used A8R8G9B8 a well known format.

So until we get more information about how they generated the R8_UNORM files it more a case of poking around in the dark.

I have managed to use the america grass material texture in a civ 6 mod, but it looks a lot different without the same heightmap being used.

good to know, any information on unit graphics?
