Civ 7 Countdown

This sounds like you have a Radeon graphics card, no? It's something about non-Nvidia drivers.
no i have nvidia, it is just gives you the option to load as either. anyway, the game has loaded up which is good - low settings though. And I've setup the 2k account from the QR code, which was mostly easy accept for typing in the code

So, USA is getting this early? I thought midnight on the 6th for USA?

In Australia we are supposed to get at 4pm on the 6th, but contradictory the Steam page says 12th and the DLC section says 6th:
If you have Deluxe or Founders, we get access at 4pm. If you had preordered the standard edition, it unlocks in the afternoon on Wednesday instead.

OK. Now installing for Australia early release. 15.6 GB. 24 minutes remaining So, we got it at 9:50am on Thursday the 6th, after 5 restarts of Steam...

hey guys my average frame time was 11.67 and my average turn time on the AI benchmark was 24.37. Is this good or bad? Medium settings by the way :)

I was hoping for an early start, but didn't want to jinx it. The pro for releasing at midnight eastern is that it's not peak time, so the servers don't get overwhelmed. Announcing 6pm would negate that, but releasing early with midnight being the official time doesn't just mean we get a headstart, but that they do too with seeing players connect and play and running into issues (of course, with the streamer contingent they get that already too, but now to a bigger degree).

Gfx 8.7, AI 20.2 This is on a 4 year old laptop - MSI GE75 Raider (RTX 2070 Super). Game is on mix of medium / high settings

Crashes constantly on a laptop that should at least load it (i7, 32 GB RAM, OK video card). Don't even get to a welcome screen. For some reason my new gaming computer is downloading at only 1/10th the speed, so 2.5 hours plus!!!

edit: doh, it wasn't connecting to the 5G signal.
edit 2: now it's loading game files from the laptop, WTH? Had no idea it could even do that.

No game codes yet from Amazon for pre order of Founder's. Hope it will be released at the official time of 9 pm pst.

Well Switch is saying "you cannot play this software yet" still.

You mean the option for Steam to copy install files from other computers on the local network? I always wondered if anyone actually used the that feature.

I'm curious what is "OK video card". :D

Yeah, I thought it sped up when I switched to 5G because of download speed, but it was grabbing the files across my network!

I think it has an Intel Arc A370M GPU with 4GB GDDR6 VRAM. I looked at so many systems 2 different times in the last 2 years, I may have been confused about what it had. Looks like minimum requirement is Arc A380, is there that much difference?

I use it all the time for my Steam Deck.
