Civ art

i mean dunland heroes :) but if you need any heroes, i can find for you.

Below are some flags I made for Gondor, Mordor and the Noldor. For Dunland I would definitely use the White Hand as a flag (also perhaps the civ could be called "The White Hand" and the plural could be Dunlandings perhaps?

Also I like the axemen (made by sezereth?) but I don't really like the saruman leaderhead I made - is frenchman still making the static leaderheads? perhaps we could use his, for consistency, because I only have 2 and only 1 of them is good (sauron).

Thanks xmen guy! However they do look a little "sharp" when zoomed out. Anyway the Gondor flag is the typical tree, and stars with an added white border, mordor is a stylised eye which I modified a bit, and the Noldor flag is a Silmaril (enhanced in photoshop). Also seen as this thread was to do with dunland I made a white hand flag which also has saruman's rune on it (not sure whether to keep the rune there though - anyway picture below, on the far right side. Also may add a red border to mordor's flag.

Very nice. But the flag for the Noldor actually is based in a woman's heraldic symbol (it's a circle; man's allways are lozenges, and countries are squares), truly on Lúthien's later heraldry. Also, we don't have a single Noldor civ, but three...
Could you please do flags for the remaining civs? The 3 houses of the Noldor, the 3 of the Edain, Sindar, Vanyar, Teleri, Falathrim, Nandor, Arnor, Númenor, Angmar, Longbeards, other 3 dwarven houses. When possible you could use the elven heraldries made by Tolkien (for those who don't know, you may find them here: http://www.forodrim.org/gobennas/heraldry/heraldry.htm).

I presumed it was a Silmaril because it looks like a jewel, and it's on the front of my copy of the book but you know more than me on tolkien stuff (or is it just the shape you mean? what did the actual jewels look like?). Also the link doesn't work. About the other civs, theres way too many! I think you should merge some if they haven't already been made for BtS but that's just me.

They are all great, Dúrin's is perfect, no need to change anything. And you don't need to do all of them, if you don't want - and actually, many civs weren't on the original idea, and were only implemented recently. But anyway, I was just listing all, for you to choose.
About that flag, it's actually a Silmaril, and was in Lúthien's later heraldic symbol. As far as I know, it's a picture made by Tolkien himself, part of a serie of elven heraldic symbols, with rules and everything; as you used it, I suposed you knew the entire serie. The link probably don't worked because there was a ")" after it, and the browser interprets it as part of the link, try removing it and trying.
For the older version, I had converted many of those symbols to .dds and tried to use them, but they were just white flags with a symbol, and only the white appeared (it didn't work)... Could you do some of those for us? And, of course, if you have any ideas for other flags, it would also be great.
Edit: I was thinking... I'd use the flag you made for the Nandor, if you don't mind.

Look at this...

of course it will look better with the actuall elven buildings, as well as forest sourrounding it.

The big pavilion thing looks a lot like Southeast Asian architecture, but everything else is fine.
