So the last few months I have had this issue that I have been unable to resolve. Whenever I try to run Civ V: G&K, the game will do as follows: give me the choice of directx (i choose 10 or 11), load in to show the 2K logo, show the Praxis symbol, then hit the load screen (the random pastelle painting or whatever it is that says loading), and then proceed to automatically close without an error messages or notification of any kind. Occasionally it will instead go black, and the task manager will say it is Not Responding.
This started after i brought my computer back from the repair shop. I had a user file become corrupted in some way and they took all my data and moved it to a new user which was not corrupt. Everything runs fine except Civ. When I created a new user and ran it from that account, I was able to reach the main menu, so I think it has to do with the new user. Possibly it is trying to access it under the old accounts name (Old account was named X, new one named Y, etc.)?
I have been talking to 2k support without any success for over a month (link to thread below). Thought maybe the community might have some idea what was going on or maybe one of you have had this issue yourself?
Hope you guys have some idea!
