So I got bored and started writing down what happened in my civ game in a journal like fashion, from the point of an immortal leader. And after reading through these forums for a few years I finally decided to actaully join them, and this is my first post, so here it goes! (PS, criticism is not only welcome, but begged for!)

STARTING FROM EARLIEST UNCORRUPTED RECORD...

1970 BC
~Still technically in a state of war with the Aztecs, we have yet to see any real military attempt aside from a wandering scout near Novgrod, but a Chariot has been seen near St. Petersburg. Perhaps this is the harbinger of the main attack force?
~The war with Persia continues on, currently an army of Immortals and archers stand ready to invade at the borders near St. Petersburg. Four of our spearmen defend that area and new recruits are in short supply, but for now we are holding.
~The Polynesians and Chinese continue to activly forge a friendship between them and us, with no signs of stopping.
~The Danes, Americans an Iraqois remain civil, and the Japanese and Songhai are to be disregarded as an influence at all due to their distance from us and small size. Greece is a wild card, their homelands are unknown but they appear freindly.

1950 BC
~A spear man has been lost, and the Persians are advancing on St. Petersburg with two Immortal companies and three companies of Archers. I fear the worst is in store for Great Russia...

1960 BC
~Another company of spearman has been lost. We are forced to remain on the defensive, but we must not abandon the city. The agriculture there is vital for future expansion.
~The known world has been explored, coast to coast with the exception of some Imperial cores. I allowed the scouts to disperse and live far from the destruction of the motherland. Note: the Greeks appear to not be native to this continent, as we have found no Greek cities. Perhaps they came from across the sea? And perhaps there are more empires where the Greeks come from?

1930 BC
~The annihilation of a Persian archer company gives some much needed moral, but we are still fighting an uphill battle.
~The Iraqois have declared war on our long time allies the Polynesians, may they have the strength to repel their great foe.

1920 BC
~A Persian Immortal company was destroyed, but only because they flung themselves in a furor at the city walls. Some damage was caused and lives lost, but St. Petersburg will recover.
~Unbeknownst to me a group of civilians had assembled in Moscow, prepared to exodus and begin anew the empire, should it be necessariy. I've sent them to the western coast to settle and create a new bastion against the Persian onslaught. Optimally I wished to send them to a source silver in the north eastern hills, but the resources cannot be spared to protect them that far out.
~A treaty for open borders has been opened with the Iraqois, and the Danes have declared war on the Chinese.

1910 BC
~The Aztecs attempted to broker peace between our nations, but his demands for our entire treasury and national supplies of dyes are too much for a temporary peace in an imaginary war.
~The tide may be turning in the war with the Persians, two more companies of Immortals have been destroyed, although a company of archers has been sighted south of the city, north of the Capitol. An Immortal company can be seen on the horizon, and a second archer company is to the north of St. Petersburg.
~A new people, calling themselves Koreans, have made contact with us from across the Eastern Sea. Perhaps the are from the same land as the Greeks?
~We have divined ways to generate a larger cash flow from the land as well as trap many of the beasts that roam the tundra, but theses bounties must have the proper infrastructure to be utilized, and such infrastructure may not be built effectively in a time of war.
~Wise men have been assigned to learn the ways that the Persians make bows and arrows, so that we may utilize it against them. Laboratory work is promising, field research teams are still MIA.

1900 BC
~A new company of spearmen has been trained and is being deployed to the frontlines at St. Petersburg, but I feel as if Persia is growing tired of war, as they are sending fewer and fewer reinforcements.
~A new city, Rostov, has been founded to the east and between Moscow and Novgrod, along the coast.
~Work continues in the southern lands to improve infrastructure that the enemy cannot yet reach, with the hopes of improving the fighting ability of Russia.

1890 BC
~Another Persian archer has fallen to our forces, and the Persians seem to be in retreat, if only temporarily. Another company of spearmen are on their way from Novgrod to bolster the defense for the coming storm.

1880 BC
~The Persians have made another push, two archer companies and two Immortal companies. St. Petersburg has sent a company of spearmen recruits to fight on the field, and despite the war the surrounding farmland provides ample food for population growth.
~Technologically we seem to be falling behind, this must be remedied, but not at a cost of the war effort of course.

1870
~One of our spearmen companies has been destroyed, but an eye for an eye, for another Persian Archer was destroyed. The Persians are weakend but still a fighting force.

1860 BC
~Persia attempted to broker peace, but their idea of peace is us catipulsteing Rostov and St. Petersburg, as well as all of our funds and national resources.
We have lost two more spearman companies in an assault against an Immortal company.
~To make matters worse, it seems an army of Aztec Jaguar Warriors has arrived. Alone they could be dealt with, but in tandem with the Perisans I fear greatly for the Empire.
~Moscow is sending reinforcements of one spear man company, but will we last much longer in this firestorm? Should the end loom any closer, then I may make a decision to gift Russian lands and people to the Polynesians, so that they may be bolstered and powerful enough to defend us. This is of course a last resort, but should St. Petersburg fall, a peace would only delay the slaughter.

1850 BC
~The Aztec Jaguars have yet to attack, and we have demolished an Immortal company. The Persians have been pushed back from the borders once again, but are they retreating to heal or gather in force?
~Rostov is developing nicely, but I watch it grow like the parent of a terminally ill child, knowing that no matter what it accomplishes it will be one day destroyed, prematurely struck from the Earth.
~Discussions with the other leaders of the world reveal that Persia is almost universally hated, and no one is particularly fond of the, yet each empire is far too concerned with themselves to provoke Persia's wrath, and the Americans are still licking their wounds from their own war with Persia, where they lost the city of New York.

Very neat idea. I'll be following this. Might I suggest you put up a screenshot or two of your empire so we have a better idea of where everything is?

Thanks for feed back! Anywho here's part 2:

1840 BC
~The Persians have begun deploying men riding horses to the battle field. We have know the techniques to do the same for many generations, but due to the war the only two known herds of horses have remained feral due to the war, with one herd on the border of Persia and the other to the south of St. Petersburg.
~We have demolished another Immortal, but once again it comes at a high price. We are running low on resources, and recruits are being instructed to get weapons from the dead.

1830 BC
~We have demolished the Persian horsemen, spears seem apt at that one. We have lost a company of spearman, and Moscow sends more. St. Petersburg is actively recruiting from the streets, and there is luckily no shortage of eager young men to volunteer. Additionally, workers have been instructed to corral and train the horses to the south of the city.
~We have perfect archery, although many of the wise men have only one eye now. Training archer companies is the highest priority in St. Petersberg. One of the new cyclops' told me of a way to create a far stronger metal for weapons. Hopefully resources aren't being wasted on a one eyed man's guesses.

1820 BC
America has declared war on us. They see our desperate struggle to survive and populate lands south of the Persian onslaught as an aggressive move. I do not hate our new enemy, only pity his low intelligence.
The Aztecs have not attempted an attack, and the Jaguar army has not been sighted for quite some time. It is known that the Aztecs are at war with Polynesia, who are far closer to them, perhaps their war machine is faltering?
A new batch of recruits have been deployed from St. Petersberg, bringing the standing army up to four companies of spearmen.
Scouts report a new American city on the southern coast, east of Novgrod, quite far from the main American empire.

1810
~We have brokered a peace treaty with the Aztecs, with no losses to Russia. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Persia, but the Persian army (or what is left of it) has retreated back into their own lands.
~A barbarian encampment was found, abandoned, south of Rostov. A team of civilians were dispatched to loot it, as no military units could be spared, but it seems that the the occupants of the camp were close by, to the south. They fate of the civilians is unknown.

1800 BC
~The civilians who looted the camp managed to escape capture, and returned safely to Rostov, which becoming slowly surrounded by farmland. It appears that my earlier thoughts of catipulsteing to the Polynesians was premature.

1790 BC
~The American army has been sighted near St. Petersberg, and barbarian rabble rousers have been reported in the south of the empire. Should the barbarians close in, the civilians are undefended, although the cities can provide some shelter, infrastructure remains vulnerable. Perhaps with the withdrawal of the Persians we can re-allocate troops to police the south.
~The American army appears to be warriors and archers, but they lack the powerful Immortals of the Persian empire.
~Pirates have been sighted off e coast of Rostov. Limited action can be taken, as we do not yet understand naval travel.

1780 BC
~A group of civilians beginning a mine in Rostov has been captured by the barbarians. A company of spearmen have been deploy to rescue them, and all local work has ceased.
~Cities governments have been instructed to go on rations and enforce birth laws to keep populations from growing out of check, and many men are being sent to mines to gather raw resources, as well as the added benefit of denying them time to procreate.

1770 BC
~The Persians have Mae another push towards the city, but with a far smaller force, and nome of them were Immortals. Archers manged to wipe out half of the invaders in no time.
~Workers have been ordered to build mines around St. Petersberg, even if they may destroy farms .

1760 BC
~Persia asked for their peculiar version of peace once again, but instead of all of Russia's money and resources, they wanted all of our money and all of our taxes. Needless to say the war will continue, especially since the Persian army seems broken. Possibly if they offer an equal peace, or possibly tribute, then I will consider agreeing.
~The civilians from the Rostov mines have been rescued, and are being escorted back to finish the project. Moscow will being providing the troops to do so.
~The war effort is finally taking a financial toll. Throughout it all we have been able to have a net zero gain, and sometimes even a small income, but never have we been losing money. I'm told we will be unable to pay military and civilian fees in a short while. To remedy the situation, civilians are being both encouraged and forced to move to the country side and begin new towns outside of the main cities to bolster the economy.

1750 BC
~The Americans are demanding tribute for peace, but they have done little to show that they deserve any tribute. Not that they would receive any even if they did.
~A Persian team of horsemen has been crushed, and a company of Immortals is on the horizon. Perhaps the Persians were doing more then licking their wounds, but we will be ready for them.

1740 BC
~In a risky attempt to gain the upper hand, a company of spearmen have been dispatched on a suicide run to scout the Persian territory.
~The army now stands at six companies of spearmen and two companies of archers, but the economy continues to fall, and we now will hit the bottom even sooner then expected, but I dare not disband any units.
~ Novgrod has completed a Stoneworks, allowing it to become a major player in the war machine.
~With the attacks from ur many foes growing less and less brutal, I've commissioned group of civilians to begin preparations to settle the hills to the north east. With luck the Americans have not set up a camp there.

1730 BC
~The spearmen have perished, and we have learned nothing, save for the fact the Persians are making a moderate push against us. At least their wages can fund still breathing comrades.
~I've enacted a decree that the arts are to funded in cities across the empire. The funds necessary are marginal, but the people are happily buying up works and stimulating the economy. This is temporary, but every little but helps and we are for the time being in the black.

1720 BC
~Songhai noticed the upswing in our economy, and requested financial assistance. Due to the fragility of the economy though, I had to deny him. I hope that I have not created another enemy for Russia in the attempt to preserve her from the current ones.
Coincidentally, our old friends the Polynesians have declared war on the Songhai.
~The Persians are progressing slowly, and an American assault ended in utter disaster for them, their entire force was wiped out by the garrison at St. Petersburg.

1710 BC
~The joint assault of the Persian and American forces are making it difficult to protect St. Petersburg, but not impossible, as a Persian archer company was destroyed.
~Work continues to over haul the infrastructure of the empire. Previously civilians and cities were allowed to build what they pleased, since during peace time anything was beneficial, but now we must forcefully change from our agrarian ways of farms and homesteads to and industrial nation of mines and towns.
