What do you know about this Complete ?
What are finding in it ? All ? More ?
And what do you think about the Try Game offer, to buy it directly though the web. Is it good ? Secure ?.
The first advantage I'd find : no cd running loudly..

I am not getting your entire post, but Complete is essentially basic Civilizaion 3 bundled with Conquests (which includes Play the World).

I have bought a game over the internet, it worked fine. Security is the same as any online purchase. If you want to play on a different computer, upgrade your computer or format your harddisk there might be a hassle.

The cd is only used to install and for copyrite protection, so it only does a quick scan at the start of the game. Otherwise it does not spin up.

There is one problem though, or at least on my PC. That is the cd rom is at knee height and if I hit the cd door with my knee, and the cdrom drawer opens, when I close it, the installation takes hold and when I cancel it, the graphics of the game are gone and I have to terminate the game and restart.

There are nocd mods out there, but I suspect that they are risky. I use one on a PC dedicated to civ 3. (the PC was a freebee from a dumpster) so the one I use is not at risk.

amazon.com has several offers for sub $20 conquests including shipping.

what the shipping costs however, it can vary $3.00 between vendors. The cheaps games have the most expensive shipping. You can also check ebay and half.com, but amazon seems to be cheapest at the moment.

I suggest you move your computer ;)
Talk of no-cd patches will get you into trouble on this board. Don't even mention them.
