Initially, my game was crashing (lock-up, then reboot), but I corrected it by scaling back the overclocking I had done, to my processor.
Now, I am having a simpler, but still ridiculous, problem. I cannot properly Alt-Tab Civ IV. Whenever I do, the game minimizes fine, but loading it back up takes upwards of five minutes, no matter what type of game.
My system specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
ATI Radeon 9600 (Latest drivers)
Creative Audigy 2 Soundcard (Latest drivers, too)
1 GIG of RAM (PC3200 DDR400)
SP2
I know several people with Civ IV, many of whom have weaker rigs, and they're able to Alt-Tab quickly.
I am at a real loss, because the game runs very well, during play.
I remember always hating reading about simple issues like this, when I've had games that fail to function more catastrophically, but I was just wondering if anyone knew what I could do to rectify this!
