Civ IV Broke My Task Manager!

Hi

Has anyone else had this problem? Im (barely) running Civ IV on my desktop (AMD atholon 2400+, GeForce4 Ti4200, 512Mb RAM). After about an hour the game runs very slowly then I get a blank map. The only way I have found to restore the game is to CTRL-ALT-DEL back to windows and then ALT-TAB back to the game. This usally gives me about 5 mins of stability so I can save my game and reboot.

However when I tried this the other night the top of my task manager had disappeared. After reboots (and not even with Civ running) the top of my task manager is still gone! This is the same whether I open it with CTRL-ALT-DEL or by right clicking the taskbar!

Does anyone know a fix for this?

So...Civ !V didn't break the task manager after all? Darn. After such an accusatory thread title I was ready for a humdinger.

It seems people are ready to blame this game for anything up to global warming and avian flu...

You should free up some RAM by closing out those 4(!) IE windows and outlook. I also noticed some other unnecessary programs running.

I am not supprised you are having problems... all your RAM is gone
