Hello there.

Im having some problems running Civ IV. The game's FPS is fine but what happens is game slutters so much that its unplayable to me. What is more weirder is that when i change resolution in options to 1024x768 and then back to 1280x1024 the lagg sometimes dissapears. I have no idea whats causing it, maby you guys can help out?

Posted my computer specs down here.

Check that the drivers for you video card are up to date.

I dont understand why its always the drivers. I've got all latest drivers. Maby its something with my quadcore ?

Just in case i downloaded my Video card / Sound / Motherboard - DX divers again and reinstalled them. Still nothing.

hey i'm having this problem too

game ran perfectly fine for the past several months, all of a sudden last night game starts running like crap

I did have the computer on battery power but it still does it while plugged in
I've tried: checking drivers, restarting, re-installing,
I first noticed it on a mod but it happens in the regular BTS too
CIV 4 is not running poorly it jsut seems to be the expansion BTS

any suggestions?
should I re-install both games?

the game just runs terribly slow, choppiness in scrolling and moving cursor in game

thanks

PS i also noticed that windows has set the priority to "below-normal" i don't know if it has always been doing this but it seems weird,
unfortunately when i change the priority nothing good happens with the game
PSS im using steam
PSSS thanks
or should it be PPS

Hi there,
I have the same problem. I've played Civ IV for months on my computer, with no problems. Then all of a sudden it would slow down in the middle of a game. And it is not just late in a huge game - it is early on in small games too (every time I restart after about 40 turns - yes, I've counted). I can't think of anything else to try to fix it. I have re-installed the game four times, increased my virtual memory, uninstalled some of my kids' games (just in case they "clash")... My drivers are all up to date (verified today). I clean cache/cookies/temp files daily.

OS - Vista 64-bit Home Premium
Processor - AMD Quad 2.4GHz
Memory - 8Gb
Video Card - GeForce 9100

Am I missing anything?

When the game slows down and I exit, it actually slows down my whole system and I need to reboot my computer. Any suggestions, please?

Thanks.
