"Civ IV on Apple/Mac First"!? (April Fool's Joke)

Well, you can obviously see that this was a typical (or not so typical) April Fools joke.
Some people of course knew better and didn't believe it.

But I think it worked a little too well for its own good.

Either way, sleep well tonight, nothing with Civ IV has changed.
If you looked a little deeper, you could see that no news announcement was made on the main page because not letting the mods know would result in even more confusion and chaos.

I can't believe it they should know that there are far more PC gamers than Mac gamers. i can't believe i have to wait 6 months after Mac just because of the computer i use

Very weird, read Mrex's article and they're saying they expect to release the Windows version 6-8 months after the Mac version.

This has to be one of the worst mess-ups in gaming history. Why release it on Mac first? Windows has more users and will sell alot more. It could be sometype of weird advertising though. If Mac players spend 6 months telling everyone "this game is awesome, you can do this and this etc." then the windows players may be more anxious to get there hands on the game.

I would much prefer not to wait untill mid 2006 to play Civ4 though

I would be more than thrilled if someone from the companies makes this more clear (Hint Take-Two)...

You know them, they covered up their purchase of Civ4's publishing rights for so long, I doubt they will confirm this anytime soon.

Indeed, now I wish I had a mac for Civ4 - if it is 6 months earlier, well, all I can say is wow.

If that's really true, then awesome!! I've always been a Mac person even though I have a Windows computer too and play Civ III on it. I would definitely prefer to play Civ IV with OS X... and six months earlier than with Windows, even. (although I must say - 6 months!? That's a little hard to believe)

Yeah... just replace Mac with PC in that sentence, and suddenly you know how some of us feel! The tables (I hope) have finally, finally turned, it seems - even if just for this one time.

Dude, Mac users are less in number. It's a little more important for the majority to get things first. (Like Europe usually getting games after USA, or not getting them at all)
