Civ Player Nationality

2 Irish grandparents on one side. 2 great grandparents that are English on the other
Everyone after on both sides in born in Canada
So I guess that make me more Irish?

Saskatchewan has a village nammed Dummer too (My Great Grandma actually went to a Dummer school). Not to mention the pop 50 town of Biggar, who's sign reads "New York's big, but we're Biggar."

Anyway, I'm Canadian, so the closest leader and Civ for me would be Montazuma of the Aztecs.

I was rasied by a Candian and Mexican, which are both not represented (and anyone who says Mexico is represented by Spain should say that having a States civ is stupid cause England is already in there) I'm not remotely Francaphone so France is out. England is a possible choice, but I feel Aztec is the closest overall. (Too bad they gave them such a bad UU and meh UB)

The Aztec Empire was largely located in Mexico so that is indeed the closest thing you have...otherwise you'd have to roll with spain (for their colony there which as you said is a stupid concept) or France/England (Same idea with Canada), or the USA (Because it's physically close?), which all have some small relevance to you but in all reality not really.

Although you could also be a total !@#$ and say "the Incans made it pretty far north in their time...so I'll just use them!". That might not be really accurate for you, but if you did it you'd get to whore one of the best if not THE best civ in the game and have an excuse for doing it :mischief: .

Come on , Am I the only asian players around here

sorry I forgot to say it, but I'm 3/7 chinese and 3/7 japanese so I'm 6/7 asian!:D

I am a bloddy melting pot myself.

Grandparents:

Father: 1 Irish, 1 Scottish
Mother: 1 English, 1 Ukranian/Polish

Those are most direct, others in background as well.

I was born in Canada.

So, if we go by Civs' Civs, then I am part: English, Celt, Russian (+ American if you count nearest Civ I was born to).

(Sort of wish there was some direct Welsh in me. Then I could claim the entire British Isles:lol: ).

Its more than that too, my step-Dad was an Aztec nut so we went to see the pyramids in Mexico city (Tenoticlan) and the Pyramid on the mountin of Tepatitlan and the subway ruins and on and on and on. We're lucky he didn't make us switch to the Aztec calender. Its between English and Aztec, so I choose Aztec.

It's impressive enough to build pyramids in line with cosmic events, but to build one on a mountain!? Impressive drive...

Yeah, Inca is pretty crazy good in Civ, same with the Mali. Ive actually been findind the UB kind of usefull in Marathon speed. UU's still a wash, I'm gonna mod it.

Quite the Rainbow Coalition; you've got every shade of white.

English/Viking, my family comes from areas of England and Ireland that were under Viking rule, hence the light hair and blueish eyes!

The idea of a nation-state is fairly recent in human history. I believe France was actually the first to introduce it. But nation and nation-states are two different things. As a Swede you belong to a nation that was developed out of Viking ancestry. Your Viking ancestry is also shared by Norwegians, Danes, and Icelanders. Those nation-states including yours all shares a common ancestry and nation, therefore the development of nation-state separation is arbitrary.

Well, you could say that I guess. Still the viking culture as such was more or less gone when Sweden as a state begun to appear. Sure I have viking ancentry at some point but if you want you an trace evrything back to africa even. That's why I said closest would be the viking civ and that the state sweden has little to do with vikings as such. I'm probably missing your point since I'm not really sure what you mean by nation-state and nation. :mischief:

@Crowqueen: I know, I lived in Uppsala (or Upsala as it's often spellt now) for almost 4 years. Great town, filled with students and bicycles. :D

There is more white-on-white racism in Britain than there is white-on-coloured. Even the black and Asian kids gang up on the Poles in schools nowadays.

So there are a multitude of different white ethnicities in existance...

Hongkonger here:)
Of course I consider myself as Chinese.
However some people(which is ethnically Chinese) else in HK do not:lol:(Really rare though)

Have been diving here since years ago.
I also had an account but just forget all thing needed to log in or regain the password :crazyeye:
So I just register this one.

Romania, so.... um... Greece is the closest geographically. Rome is where it got the name, language, early culture and many (maybe most?) of the people living here today (not the Dacians, as some nationalists like to think) so not sure what I should say.

Edit: Hi Mîtiu Ioan, guess I'm not the first Romanian here in this thread. :)
