I really dont want modern Firaxis to ruin the old games with expensive DLC, bugs.
Maybe its time to change developers instead? Paradox could do it maybe?

You don't want a game ruined by DLC... So you want Paradox to run it. Umm.... How do we break this to you? Have you seen their DLC model?

Paradox is famous for it's DLC model but TBF, the latest "civ" model is perhaps the single worse case of a half baked game release of any game I've seen .
Civ 7 DLC's are again the worst rip off Ive ever seen ,and again ! the lowest review score Ive ever seen at 90% Negative .

Give me Parodox every day and then some

Civ7's DLC model is very bad. But of all the companies to choose a new DLC model from... Paradox?

Maybe , I to be fair quite like a fair few parodox games, thou always try buy the DLC's when on sale .

Re 2K I was really quite shocked and angry at the DLC spam , and the reviews are the worst Ive seen.

Also I find with Parodox games have never had withheld content ever , and in most cases the base game is pretty good ( thou they have had a few howler's )

I updated the poll. Added SMAC, Civ5 BE, and a none option. The poll allows you to change your vote and you can vote for more than one item.

Since it came out in April, I have been enjoying Oblivion Remastered. For those unaware, Bethesda remastered (upped the graphics and made only slight tweaks to gameplay) to its fourth itinerary in its Elder Scrolls series, which originally came out in 2006. I have been amazed at how much I am enjoying replaying a game I had played to death 20 years ago. This isn't a new thing (Capcom keeps bringing out remastered/reimagined versions of Resident Evil for instance), but I just only now realized how much I would love to play a remastered version of Civ IV (also a game I played to death 20 years ago), with minor to no updates to gameplay, but made to look like Civ VII (you can't deny that the game is gorgeous) AND that works on a 64 bit Windows system (no more RAM crashes!). Playing a remastered version of Civ 2 (more than seven civs!) would also be cool :)

So, if you could choose to have one (or more!) previous itinerary of Civ remastered with Civ VII graphics and with minor updates to gameplay, which one(s) would you choose?
My favourite iteration of Civ, by far, is Civ2, but a graphics remastering would defeat the point of the strong modding and custom scenario community that are it's outstanding features. Personally, I'm not the type who believes eye candy is the essential part of a computer game (or movie or TV show).

Even if I don't plan on playing it, Civ I on the SNES could easily be ported to Nintendo Switch Online. Especially since the Switch 2 has native mouse control support, or you could plug in a mouse.

What about no civii graphic updates, but maybe 4k resolution like Command and Conquer remastered? What about availability on Steam and the ability to play with more than 7 civs?

I added SMAC and Civ:BE with updated poll options. They are very different and I like both.

Civ 4 has a pretty good mod called Planetfall that scratches the SMAC itch in an interesting way.

I'd like to see Civ5 the most, but Civ4 is a very close contender because I'm interested in its gameplay and haven't had a chance to play it.

I thought twice about this. As much as I would like to see a Civ IV remaster, and I would rather have that than any other game anywhere anytime, I know that Firaxis isn't up to it. They would just make a mess of it by changing something they shouldn't. They just don't have the ability.

All things considered the best thing for everybody is if they just closed the studio and put the Civ IP into the public domain.
