Shawnee is an Exploration Age civilization that excels at utilizing natural resources. Their unique ability, Nepekifaki, gives more food for settlements built on river tiles but slightly reduces food for any cities not built on rivers. Its associated wonder is the Serpent Mound.

I think “associated” means they get a head start on it. There’s a shot of Egypt having “antiquity” talents that list the Pyramids, but everyone else might still need to gain Masonry first.

Makes sense for early Wonders, maybe not for others.

EDIT: maybe the post below this one is more accurate.

Woooah, unique wonders are a thing now?

I think every Civ in the game has a world wonder in the game that they get a bonus toward building, but is not exclusive. Ie Rome has the same for the Colisseum.

They seem to be trying to thread the needle a little more between alt history and more historical accuracy.

don't like the idea of associated wonders. It's a one-time bonus, someone builds the Wonder before you and it's useless

It looks like all the civilizations have this bonus for a particular wonder, so I don't think it's as if you're giving something up if you don't want to build your associated wonder.
