Civ VI Funny/Strange Screenshots

In my current game of Scotland, I'm generating over 100 Great Scientist points per turn and maybe 60 Great Engineer points per turn. Scotland is clearly the Russia of Science victory. :crazyeye:

Yeah, but I'm playing the Cree and it's only Renaissance Era... (though I did just get the first Modern Era civic...)

Argh! it's the Curse Of Coal !

I was trying for the "Metroplex" achievement and was almost finished it when I got the tech to reveal coal. Guess where a deposit was located?

And because it's a strategic resource there was nothing I could do about it. Can't harvest it, can't build on top of it. Please let me know if I'm missing some option, but to the best of my knowledge I was stuck with it.

I'm just cringing because you wasted your GP with districts that don't even benefit from its adjacency bonus. :p

If the civ with a lone tile was the Cree, it could be that they had an incoming trade route from one of their other cities that entered that tile, then got plundered before it could go any further. It could even have passed through that tile while traveling between two other cities (in a line perpendicular to the direction of the owning city).

Just had this happen a couple of days ago in fact as the trade route went from a southern city to Valletta. Not plundered, just crossed within 3 tiles of another city:

(but now I look at it, I wonder why the tile below that didn't get converted...)

Cree are one of the ultimate snowball civs - even without wars.

Yeah, I've noticed that... It won't quite be a 200-turn culture victory, but it's not gonna reach 250 turns either.

(also I'm gonna get Metroplex this game, yay)

Yeah, should have done a Theatre district where the Entertainment one is.
In the memorable words of Ren Hoek... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING MAN???

Heh-heh, at the time I needed the amenities to keep my cities happy and I thought "Well, later on I can always put a theatre district between the other two wonders". Sadly, the curse of coal interrupted my plans. :)

Eh, I was looking for a "cheap" wonder to quickly build around the Government Plaza and Petra fit the bill. I was just going for the achievement, wasn't paying any attention to optimal placement.

On the other subject from some posts just above, that of the Cree traders grabbing interesting hexes, I thought they were very clever to get the trade route in just the right spot to pick up these luxury resources:

So I just got declared a joint war by Scotland and England... Yes, I have the money to levy Kabul. Will report back in a few turns. :)

Edit: Crossbows are strong. Oh, yeah, and a wall appeared right at the wrong moment.

Well, since we've been doing a lot of Poundmaker trade route posts lately, here is another...

... I call this one, The Moat ! A moat filled with horses and marble :p

p.s. I guess if you played on a really slow game speed and founded a new city in the middle of 6 others, it might even be possible to completely build a trade route "moat" around it before the borders expanded. Hmmm, I hereby throw down the gauntlet to challenge someone to this honourable task! I seriously don't think I have the patience for it.

Mongol caravan facing wrong way.jpg

Dreaded Mongol trade caravan coming my way, and it was facing the wrong way at first.
