Well, that kindda stung...

Safety precautions be damned, my people keep their ski lifts open during a volcanic eruption.

Funny game here in that when the Soviets took the city of Lisbon, that caused them to lose the game. Since I had already converted nearly half their cities to Eastern Orthodoxy. I was running up the score this game and taking my time. Ended up being my 5th highest score, and I got my highest population city at 43 with Constantinople (although I think that's tied with one of my Khmer cities when I ran up the score with them but the HOF shows Constantinople). And got the highest followers for a religion with this game as well.

On a side note, I have to compliment you on your planning of that Great Wall segment along the nothern border, there's nothing more satisfying than putting down those long uninterrupted segments when playing China.
Haha, I had never played the "wall" game in the few other times I've done china. It's more fun and gets more tourism than I had thought.

Well, it's Mauna Loa, not like an eruption is very dangerous so long as you keep some distance.

Getting some major Settler-stealing urges here...

Explain yourself, Gorgo!

>Find Torres Del Paine
>Settle it
>Build Preserve
>Add farms around it
>???

(on an unrelated note, timing 4 heroes, your unique Heavy Cav unit and your Crusade religion for an invasion is uh... a little broken)

An advisor told her to farm the benefits and she took him literally.

How much faith had you accumulated? The number doesn't seem to appear correctly. :D

Oh that is correct. I didn't exactly have much to use it on. Even "buying" apostles hardly put a dent in it. And this is after spending 10's of thousands on some great merchants I wanted. I greedily wanted all the great merchants for as many corporations as I could get.

I would have conquered the whole world, but that's something I've done many times before. I don't have many religious victories. Although much of my religious victory was through force. :D

Now with all desert or tundra mountains and the corresponding pantheon. :p

Sadly, that's not going to happen. :(

However, I also have good news: I got Hildegard of Bingen (gives Holy Site science adjacency bonus), and I'm going to wait until I got mountain tunnels and then add her to it!

I get it, Dido, your army looks very cute. However:

-I am out-teching you. Hard. I have 38 techs to your 27, and I have almost four times your science.
-I have corps, and I'm mere turns away from unlocking armies. You're sitting at... *checks notes* one sixth of my culture per turn.
-I have Grand Master's Chapel, Theocracy, 850 faith income per turn, and I'm sitting on another 8000 faith.
-I put down two Encampments in mere turns when I first noticed your army.
In conclusion: If you declare war on me, I will be able to buy four units that can one-shot any of your units per turn, counting only these two cities. Also, you haven't even denounced me, are you going to try a Renaissance (World) Era "surprise" war or something?

And then I'm not even getting to the point that those cities south of the desert are coastal, and it'd be trivial to just drive you into the sea.

EDIT: And before I forget, I have attempted to befriend you numerous times. You're like a Chihuahua barking up to a Great Dane.

They consulted the Putinic Oracle and it said:

"If you attack them, you will destroy a Great Empire"

They probably shoulda asked for a clarification of a couple of points in that . . .

That reminds me of the game I played a few weeks ago where I made this write-up elsewhere:
>Russia surprise invades their neighbor
>They have superior numbers
>Border city under siege almost immediately
>Turns out Russia's armies are technologically incredibly outdated
>Neighbor slaughters Russia

Civilization sure is a fun game

EDIT: Also, update on Dido, she levied the city state. Still not sure whether she's actually going to declare war. I kind of hope she does, it'd be amusing.

She actually did it!

The best part is that I have zero iron in my 20+ city empire, so I bought it specifically from Dido for gpt, figuring that I wouldn't have to pay if she declared war on me.

There's something wrong with her eyebrows, no?

That might be because I screenshotted in the middle of a changing facial expression. She was gesturing this way and that.

Meanwhile I was laughing my donkey off.

Yes, that is auto-generated.
