Like all of you I am a huge Civ fan, and have well over 1000 hours into the last installment...which actually is probably alot less than any of you, but I digress.
My eyesight isn't what it used to be, and I have really appreciated that many modern games have been excellent about offering a UI scaling feature (automatic or manual) making text and icons easy to see. One really obvious example is Endless Legend's "Big Screen Mode"
Civ VI is amazing so far, honestly. I am really enjoying it, but for 30 mins at a time (which we all know is silly). My motto is still "just one more turn" but it is said from the opposite approach as I have to force myself to play just one more turn because of eyestrain and nausea.
My monitor is 1440p, and the UI Scaling button is greyed out.
I tried modding the fonts in the game's asset folder but this is a short term solution with lots of drawbacks.
This makes me sad because it looks like most of the artwork/menus/fonts are designed for 1080p, which I think is a mistake. I'm not a game designer I admit, but wouldn't it make more sense to build a game's 2d artwork for 4k at this point and then scale down? Civ V lasted years, and I would hope VI would as well, and people aren't generally replacing their 1080p monitors with 1080p monitors are they?
I'm rambling, but I would really, REALLY like a UI scaling feature. This would not only benefit people like me, but people who play on a TV at 1080p. Keep in mind this game was advertised with the Steam controller (I bought the deluxe version with the controller) and it is not setup for TV viewing.
Thank you very much for your time!
