ok i have got civ 3 but have not got the expansion packs. I am thinking of buying C3C and was wondering if it is worth it? Can i install it without PTW installed first? Should I wait for CIV4? Has it been announced yet?

Thanks

Okay so if i buy PTW i get the whole lot anyway????

ok i have C3C on the way can anyone tell me the best way to install and patch it? I have civ 1.29 installed. Can i install C3C over that and then patch that as well? WHat about PTW?? Oh so complicated :)

If you have Civ1.29 installed all you need to do is install C3C...what you should have after that is Civ3 1.29, PTW 1.27 and C3C 1.00. Then patch conquests to 1.22. :)

He doesn't have PTW. And unless you are going to play CivIII vanilla anymore (I don't) you don't even need to patch that. But DO, definitely DO patch C3C to 1.22.

Congrats. Not only does Conquests have some great improvements - especially to multiplayer stability, the actual Conquests scenarios are GREAT! I personally love the Feudal Japan and the WWII Pacific scenarios. Other favorite is the Rise of Rome.

Enjoy!

If you install C3C after having installed PTW it asks you for the PTW disk to play PTW (or you have to fiddle with files in a way that I can't be specific about). But if you install conquests over just vanilla civ3 then you can choose PTW or conquests and play from the c3c disk. I guess if you want to play vanilla you need the vanilla disk (I haven't played vanilla recently). But if you install c3c over civ3 1.0 and PTW 1.0, both will be patched "up to date."
