Civ3 PTW problem

so i have the Civ3 Gold Edition with PTW expansion which has 2 cd's...one with Civ3 and one with PTW...i have craked my PTW cd...is there any way to instal only the Civ3 cd?

During install it stops asking me for the PTW cd, there is no option to NOT install it, i can only choose CANCEL, because when i insert the cracked cd ofcoarse it doesnt install and before completion i get an error incomplete install and then nothing.

I tried to install again and when it asks for the 2nd cd PTW i went to processes and shut down the install...it allowed me to exit leaving the game on my computer, but it does not run when i try.

so is there a way to "by-pass" insertng the PTW cd? there is no option to just install Civ3 alone. Seems they have something on disk 2 (ptw) to complete the install.

No, I don't think so. If you have the same Gold edition that I have, then you should forget about the way the CDs are labeled. It's a completely different set from what separateley bought Vanilla and PTW disks contain. The Gold Version actually does not even install the Vanilla-exe, so all you can play with it is PTW.
Looks like you're really doomed. On the other hand it should be no big deal to get a factory sealded version of Civ III Complete for just a couple of bucks - amazon.co.uk right now offer III plus IV Complete Package for 8,99 pounds, which should be one of the best gameplay time / money spent ratios ever offered in gaming history:
