Civ3Flic Editor and Flickster animation problem

Hi. It is long time since i tried to mod or even just view flc files. Now trying Civ3Flc Editor and Flickster, have for some reason problems. When trying to open leaderhead flc files i dont get an animation at all, only file information and extended information. And while opening any flc (leaderheads or units) file in Civ3Flc Editor, the animation screen is just white. At the side, it shows that the animation is playing though. What could be the reasons for both of these problems? When i last tried flicster many years ago, i never had any problems.

In windows 8 and 10 you'll need to hit F5 after civ3Flc editor has loaded to make unit animations play. Flicster works in win 8 - at least on my computer, so I don't know what could be the problem with that one.

Ok.. thanks.. if i get even civ3flc editor to show, then im good with already that.. then i even don't require flicster i think.

And i'm actually in forums already long time (since the time before all the site got rearranged).. just had forgotten my old user name and password.. so had to do a new one

Unit FLCS are in a special FLC format, so it doesn't work with Leaderhead FLCs. You can view/(create also I believe) Leaderhead FLC's in JASC Animation Shop.

Speaking of JASC Animation Shop, it seems to be discontinued, and I can't find a true freeware version of it.

While the download of it is still around, it's a trial version, and I'm not sure if I can uninstall and reinstall it after the trial period and have it still work.

I got the trial version of that I think, and I used it to create some static leaderheads. It seems to still run even passed it. But I havent done actual work in it since I did the static leaderheads, which was done gradually over a week. It comes up with the trial window, but I could still look around the program last I checked.

Hi Bluemofia, Jasc Animation Shop 3.11 was a free version someone pointed me to a long time ago. Seems there are some links online still for it, like here.

Hi Tom, this link seems to be more of a guide on how to do this in photoshop (and some unrelated stuff which I will not mention, that leads me to think the original page was hacked or modified in some way), and it doesn't mention Jasc animation shop anywhere other than the title.

Really strange, i copied the link to a download page.. maybe it redirected me or something! I removed that link just to be safe, sorry for that. I remember Freewaregeeks site had it back in the day, but it's gone from their site also.
