Civ4 Map Finder Announced!

The VB utility. I opened it and it set the paths for me. I checked ingame options to verify that as well. However when I start the VB utility now it just gives the windows error pop up asking if I want to send the error report. Not sure where in the report I can find exactly what caused the program to shut down.

Hm. That fact that it worked once is interesting. Are all the data files and folders there?

MF_Text.dat


Did you uninstall the old version? The Rule file may still be pointing there in the ini file.

Well it didn't really work once, it just pointed the ini to the right folders, didn't open the program itself.

All of the files are there. I didn't uninstall the old version before but I just did a complete uninstall on map finder and reinstalled Beta6. Same error screen

No real idea of what is causing it.

A couple of things to try:

• Uninstall Beta6 and install Beta4. (reboot between)
  
• Try it without and with V1.0.

I uninstalled mapfinder, installed beta 4, same error. Uinstalled beta4, installed 1.0, installed beta4, same error.

There wouldn't be any usable info in the windows error report would there? To know why it is shutting down.

Probably, but the problem is finding it.

It took me awhile, but I figured out what this error probably was. If you have an invalid path in the INI file it doesn't know how to handle it. I am working on a change. For now just make sure that all three map finder path/file names are valid.

Edit: Ah, it is using the wrong extension for the rule file. "Default.txt" instead of "Default.rul".
