CIV4 warlords comes out.....

It's just as acceptable to write 25 July 2006. I notice that the windows clock does it that way around, for example.

IIRC Civ 4 was 2 weeks late in Europe, right?

When it does come out will all the mod makers have to redo there mods or will it be ok? I'm asking as people are now doing alot of things with the sdk and i want to know how this will go with warlords

Off topic
have you read the papers?? seen the TV the US troops pulled out of a british controled area leaving massive amounts of RPG's, Rifles, and ammo (WORKING) for bin lardens mates to pick up and use on us... and there own troops who's backwards??

On topic sort of ;)
better having cameras all around city centers (thats the only place they have them) than not having any. I don't know where that camera thing came from maybe your press trying to say the british are camera happy but we only have them in town/city centers cuts down alot of crime and our city centers are about 1 and a half times the size of your malls (squashed down to one level) apart from london & birmingham that is

this thread gives me deja vu from last year!

I would like warlords to be out in July but I setting myself for August.

I remember Amazon et al telling everyone a date then moving it back, and back, and back etc.

Yeah but I'm british and we put the date the right way round and in order ;) dd/mm/yyyy:p the british civilization have been writing dates alot longer than the USA.

1. since when have americans done things the easy way? we still refuse to switch to the easier metric system.

2. just because the brits have used something longer doesnt matter. i have had a vcr longer than a dvd player but that doesnt make it a better format.

i entered the expected date into my civ 4 decoder ring and it says 'wait till update 2 before playing'. my magic 8 ball just keeps saying 'come back later'.

Maybe the person that wrote the release date is from the military or from another country and puts the days/months/years in that order.

Yeah, I'll stick with 25JUL06, thanks. :D

In italy or at least in one of best videogames shopping it says 21/07/2006.To the OP are you sure the shop didn't say 21/07/2006 instead of 21/06/2006?

All the world uses the dd/mm/yyyy format except the USA. I believe that the USA use the different format to feel that little bit special, different or better than the rest of the world. This happens in many other things.

I guess that is why they have been busy modifying the English language throughout the years to feel different. In a couple of centuries they will have modified it so much that it will become American instead of English as it will be too different to be called English. Or maybe they will just end up using Spanish or even Spanglish! :)

In Canada the standard date format is YY-MM-DD

Ill buy it when I see it on the shelves!

Yes, I am aware that in Canada the date format is like the USA. I guess that is the result of being so close to the USA and its culture. Canadians got influenced by the Americans and switched to their date format, just as they have slowly been shifting to American English instead of using British English.

I thought they used both english and french was i wrong? or is it like england mixed language? i can walk from one side of town to the other without hearing 1 word in english :crazyeye:

As far as I know the only region in Canada where they speak French is Quebec. Elsewhere they speak English. Every few years they make a referendum to try to secede from Canada. The last one done in the mid 90s was pretty close, something like 50.3% voted to remain part of Canada. I bet that if they did one today there would be more than 50% if favour of secession...

Im in favor of the Secession ...... but It would not pass if the refendum was done today ...... the seperatists are down to roughly 45%
Anyhow .... in Saskatchewan they have a big french speaking population also in Ontario. :)

I am also in favour of secession especially if they want to preserve their French culture. I did not know that they spoke French in other parts of Canada apart from Quebec though.
