Civ6 still running in Steam after exiting game

When I exit civ6 and return to the desktop, the game apparently still runs in Steam. If I go back into Steam, I can see it say "running" next to civ6 in my library. As a result, if I try to launch the game again, I get a pop up stating that the game is already running. It's an easy fix. I just go into Steam again and click "exit". Steam then prompts me if I want to shut down civ6 and I say "yes" and exit normally. I can then launch civ6 again. This is new, it never happened before. Does it have to do with the new launcher maybe? It just seems odd that I need to launch Steam and exit every single time in order to play a new game of civ6.

Anyone else have this?

This happens to me as well, but I've also discovered that if I'm patient enough, steam will eventually realize the process has exited.

I have noticed this as well. The easiest solution, is to close steam. Then start normally (I have the CiVI icon on my desktop). It takes a few seconds extra, but loads fine.
