Also, the alerts tell you of trades you can't make. If the AI has only one of a lux, it will never ever trade it. So alerts shouldn't tell you that the AI has a lux to trade with you.
This has been raised before I think, I like it tho. Atleast it gives you a hint at: Civ has lux you dont. GO GET IT ;)

Agree on the GREAT TOOL part! :goodjob:

Great utility, been using it for a while until...

This problem occured. In the latest version civassist refuses to start up longer than to the point where the form shows up, and it also does not respond. But it only does this if civ is running at the same time, and only in the two (perhaps three) newest versions.

I sent an e-mail a long time ago and still got nothing...
What was the issue? - can you jog my memory?

Try a complete uninstall and reinstall - try also deleting the registry entry after uninstall (if the uninstaller doesn't do this automatically). What are your PC specs?

Already tried a complete uninstall & reinstall a few times. I'm not sure how to delete the registry entry, though.

specs:
1.7ghz (at least)
768ram
7gb free hard drive space still unused
Win XP

Something like the saves won't appear on the saves list and when I pick a save it has an error like:
This save could not be opened by CAII
blahblahblah, 3000BC

Send E-mail or Cancel

I had this problem the first time I tried CAII. I had also upgraded from C3C 1.15 to the latest version....I think CAII or C3C was just having a problem with the incompatible saves from C3C 1.15. I deleted all those old saves and have not had that problem since.

Also, for my problem, it worked before, but not when I tryed to do that archive save files thingy...

I've tryed reinstalling, deleting and downloading again, and uninstall and install
OK - does it only fail with certain files? It might be that you had an older version that double-compressed a file - I've had that problem myself. Do other files work OK?

Should run OK on those specs. Do you have windows update turned-on (Maybe a .net framework patch might help, although that's clutching at straws a bit).

Try turning-off the "Improve game activation via mouse" option. Also - try starting CivAssist first, then starting Civ.

Windows update should be turned, at least it does it automatically once in a while.
Turning-off the "Improve game activation via mouse" option does not help and neither does starting civassist before civ. It still freezes as soon as a save is loaded.

Hi,
first of all, I want to congratulate Ainwood and Thomas for the great and highly useful tool they've created. I haven't explored half the options it offers but am already using it along with all my games.
Actualy used to use it.
This weekend I had quite some problems with it. I've finished a game, histo in 2050, I had used the autosave option all through it.
When I tried to go at CivAssist2 and pick some saves for gif animation, it went down. Fully and totally.
Now it refuses to load any save, and when I start it on lookout it goes "Not responding".
I'll attach two of the saves of this particular game, and really hope you can find a solution that may arrange things.
I'm sorry if this problem has already occured but haven't read yet the whole tread...
Thanks for your help...

Yup, I think so... I havent started reading backwards...
So I'm not alone...

First, let me add my voice to the chorus of delighted users of this fine tool. I use it in all my games. It is nothing less than a superb utility.

Now, to my problem. It's a small one and I give it strictly for the information of the developers. With the SGOTM8 530BC Own save (http://gotm.civfanatics.net/saves/sgotm8/Own_SG008_BC0530_01.SAV), the world map does not draw. The minimap is fine. If this is should be relevant, my video card is an RADEON 9200. The result is the same whether I set the card in 16-bit or 32-bit colour mode.

Thanks again for a wonderful tool.

I have a similar effect in my special set-up:

Macintosh MDD, OS X, Radeon 9000 Pro, Virtual PC 5 (PC emulator) running Windows 2000.

Everything works but the worldmap display: it displays overlays e.g. from city planning, but not the terrain.

@tao

It would appear that it is indeed related to the video card. I thought this might be the case. I loaded the sav file on my home computer, which has an ATI X300. It works just fine.

I assume that a Radeon 9000 and 9200 are similar enough to manifest the same issue.
