Performance issues:
- Get the same messages about disconnected resources, unworked tiles every turn, etc. Aggravating. That should only come back ever 10 turns, or possibly the user can set this preference.
Well, you can simply turn those alerts off (I do). The unimproved tiles can be sen (manually) via the Territory screen, and the disconnected resources via the Miscellaneous screen.

- Seems to be focusing the alerts window after each turn, even if there is no alert.
- A lot of time I'll get an unhandled exception error when I hit the technologies tab.
Two known issues, both fixed (expect the dual monitor support from the previous post). New version (with these fixes) will be posted fairly soon. :)

Alert wish List:
- Alert for upgrading units.
- Alert for when an enemy has a new unit.
- Can show a history of investigated cities and keep that around?
Re upgrading units: You just want an alert when you have units that can be upgraded?
Re enemy units, the problem is that the enemy units aren't necessarily 'known' to the player, so it can be a spoiler. We could have 'best visible unit type' though.
And the history for investigated cities is not possible AFAIK. :(

Things that I probably shouldn't know:
- Is it possible to see when other civs trade techs or resources with each other civs? (i know you can't see this during the game their, but I'm just asking).
- Alert when cites change hands (border the line of things that you won't know unless you have an embassy), but you can tell by the changes to the mini-map when cities fall. Would not not have to necessarily say who the cities are falling to. "Alert - Persian cities are falling."
For the first, only if you have an embassy, AFAIK. I'll investigate. For the second, I guess it is do-able (if there's a decent demand for it).

Questions:
Is the defence bonus tool on the map view take into account fortified or unfortified units? It'd be useful to see the bonus for both.
On the map? No. In the combat calculator, then yes, fortified units are taken into account.

Thanks for the quick reply. The thing about the unconnected resources and unworked tiles is actually very useful - if only it didn't nag so incessently. I'd rather keep it on.

Yes - alert when I can upgrade units.
About the enemy units - I meant units that have been seen.

Obsolete Wonders, as yet unbuilt, are listed as still being available to build. E.g. Statue of Zeus after Metallurgy has been researched.

Might be an issue with the .NET framework. I have this problem on Win2000 (at work), whereas on XP its happy to run wherever. Do you have admin rights on the computer? Does the logged-in account have admin rights?
im the admin and yep i have admin rights........ oh well.

and ive got the lastes net framework 1.1 with the recent update. and its on windows xp proffesional with SP2

and another thing... im not sure if this has come up b4 and i cant be bothered to read thru 6 pages so...............

when i goto the map tab, most of my map isn't rendered. its all grey. this is mainly on grassland tiles. improvements on the grasslands show, but its just grey underneath.

other then that.... :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: nice untility!!! many improvements to the old civassist, and will save time micromanaging

thank!

not sure if it is in the utility or not (I havent seen it).
But a neat option to have would be a way to highlight all automated units on the map..
would make it easy to locate workers you automated by accident, or stop units on goto-orders that is going wrong direction (for goto could even show where they are heading)

Just checking in, saw the new version, and downloaded it.

Flavor tech thing seems fixed, thanks.

When I tried to simply install the new version, it stopped bc there was an older version present. Had to remove that one first, before I could continue. Could you make it such that this isn't required for the next update.

Some visual 'bugs' I still have not reported them all though
- Not showing the captions of the command buttons and some labels, reported earlier
- When I want to resize a column, I get a black square, instead of a curor type. Functionality is there though.

If you like I can post screenshots of these two 'bugs'

Update on non-Civ installed computers:::

The mapping works great now. Thanks for that.

BUT, (you knew one of those was coming) the leaderheads now seem to be gone. They showed up before the new version, but now it's just a blue box. I have the leaderheads in the override directory in the appropriate folder but they aren't pulled in? Any suggestions on what I did to remove these?

After DL newest I cannot load any C3C games. It will load C3 or PTW saves, but gets an error on all C3C saves?

Mapstat still can read them. The game is not running and I load from saves, not autosaves?

@ vmxa, if you are using the override directory, the you will have to download the 1.22 patch to get the conquests.biq. All of the rules for the conquests epic games are NOT stored in save where in Civ3 and PTW they were. If you can load a COTM game then, this is more than likely the problem. If not I'll defer to ainwood to debug this one.

I have been using the 1.22 since it came out. It just happened that I DL a save here from C3 or I woudl not have had one. The PTW save is from a 2 year long pbem game.

Otherwise all I play is C3C at 1.22. The prior version was working, but after I removed it to install the latest, it is not happy with C3c saves?

Can you send me one of them?

Secondly, try this save, and tell me if it opens that. If it does, then it will probably be an install path issue for the other games (it can't, as Tubby_Rower suggests, find the BIQ).

I have a small problem.
I have a 1400X1050 resolution on my notebook and adjusted the display to 120 dpi fonts (I don't like microscopic letters).
CivAssist now opens windows bigger than the screen and after I resize them, the content doesn't fit well. Especially in the file open dialog, I cannot access all files.

Other than that everything's  .

Sorry about all the post, but I am not familiar with how to stack up files, so here is the settings:

Here is one of the saves, I forget where I got it from, but the game loads it find.
Ok - it simply can't find the Conquets.BIQ. Have you set anything in the options screen for 'install path over-ride'? If so, clear that box, and try again.
'
Edit: Yep: Clear that stuff out of the install path over-ride, and it should work (and if people (in general) are going to use the install path over-ride, then they should point it to the "Civilization III" directory, not the Civ3PTW or Conquests sub-directories). :)

Congrats, ainwood, to the successful launch of the second iteration of CivAssist and the third incarnation of your initial idea (anyone remember TradeAssist?? :) ). Seems to become as close to your vision of a "perfect" civving tool as it could get, perhaps? The capabilities and the UI are overwhelming.

Seems there are only the usual incompatabilities of different OS installations and some minor issues. Have you already heard about this one? - I have a save where I have a ROP with an AI but CivAssist II indicates a MPP instead. Do you want the save?

Thanks! Well, the crappy UI on CivAssist (and TradeAssist :D) was one of the reasons that Tomas contacted me about improving it in the first-place. He designed the entire UI, so credit to him. :)

Yes - please send it. It likely that its a pure bug (using the wrong value). :) Either attach it here, or e-mail to gotm@civfanatics.net
