CivAssist II

CivAssist II 30-Oct-2016

Yup that was it. It was a carry over from the prior version as I do not run with autosave on. I tend to just bring up Assist from time to time and not have it up all the time.

Hot dog back in the shade.

Yes - please send it. It likely that its a pure bug (using the wrong value). :) Either attach it here, or e-mail to gotm@civfanatics.net
I'll better send it to you via email because it's a save from the current cotm. :mischief:

Um, I think it's calculating the 100K victory date... assuming you need 100K to win.
I just had a milk run aborted in 1968 :cry: :wallbash: on a tiny map when I hit 60k culture, despite assurances I wouldn't get there.
(Yes, I could've been a bit more careful myself... but still...._

My apologies. :(

Can you please e-mail a save to gotm@civfanatics.net?

It is designed to read the Total Empire Culture limit from the save, however there is a bug in conquests in that it appears load the culture limit from the last-played-world, rather than the actual world size. I believed that it used this world size, rather than the actual for the total culture limit. It appears that this needs extra work.

ainwood I see we are working you good. I sure hope you are getting some satifaction from it all. I know we all appreciate the effort of both of you.

The same save I just emailed you... I opened it in the latest version, clicked on the Culture tab, and got an unhandled exception ("Attempted to divide by zero").

Full debug info:
Spoiler :

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

I've seen some pretty strange behaviour with the Overall Culture limit, but I mostly attributed it to using scenarios. I'm wondering if this might affect the HOF.

Eldar, could you do me a favour and test that .sav against the 4000BC checker in the HOF? :

It actually works with any .sav <2Mb, not just 4000BC. Hopefully the "Overall Culture Limit" row will report 60000 :).

ainwood,

I appreciate you work here. Since I've "lost" my CD to my wife and still am a dedicated lurker on Team Bede in SGOTM7, I've been using this tool to help me along.

This issue is that the SGOTM resources (oysters, sheep, etc.) aren't being loaded into the CivAssist world map. Here is the test file on the reference thread.SGOTM test save and according to the reference thread, the SGOTM folder with the different resources need to be loaded into the scenario folder of Conquests. I've done that but no dice.

Should I just swap the resource files or is this a bug??

EDIT:::
Nevermind. I finally found the readme file and the resource file is inclusive of the original resources. So I just had to replace the original resource files... Thanks.

Awesome! :thumbsup: That save I sent you, Ainwood, I was able to load with the new version of CA2. I'm happy to report that it did not crash. Now to run it while I'm playing....

@dianthus:
My save checked out. I have submitted the entire game now (no way was I going through all that and not submitting *something*!)

850AD save from TR04 - says we have an MPP with the Iroquois.
Kinda difficult seeing as nobody's even anywhere near Nationalism yet.

[Edit] We do have RoP with them though....

This was reported by someone else as well - seems ROP and MPP are switched.

Re. the culture - thanks for the saves. As Dianthus says, there are strange things with C3C culture (and the world tech rate modifier) - something to do with the way the 'play last world' code was implemented I think. I'll try to make it more robust. :)

Great stuff! Thanks a lot!

Well, you'll have to be more specific than that if you want us to fix it...

Post or send a save, and a description of the error you're getting.

I can't really get much more specific..... As I can not acess the military tab at all. As soon as I click on it I get this error

Had to shrink the save since it was 509KB.

Maybe it's because it's a modded game (or at least has different units). I get the error too, it should work.

PS: What are you doing playing Rise of Rome with railroads? ;)

:confused:

I just checked, and my version is showing that its a ROP!

Its a long-shot, but can you please e-mail me a copy of your Conquests.BIQ file?
