CivDiplomacy in Moderation..

Haha,

so the cowards (and vultures) do not deny their fear of facing the world alone. While you threaten with all your :groucho: puffery, the strong, independant, and noble nations of Europe calmly prepare your downfall.

Orthodox Catholic and Roman Catholic are all of the true faith, unlike the barbarian prostrating followers of the Koran and Islam in Turkey, with their once-mighty Austrian hangers-on.

You have sealed your fate!

PS. Good job Flattie - it is fun!

Touche, good sir The_Newbie. I've been in the habit lately of confusing my time periods. It can happen to anybody. But really, let's not turn this into a Holy war. I'm afraid that Russia would be at a major disadvantage.

Just because I like the king smiley, I'm putting him in here.:king:

Hmph...

I look East and all I see is Serbia still independent. Sloppy, very sloppy. :p

This may come as no shock to many of you, but hotmail is acting funky. I'm going to give it a few hours and then see if I can log on and check my email. Therefore, my orders may be late. I can't tell or not when the deadline is. I see the email from FFox in there but it won't let me get it. Like dangling chocolate in front of me and not letting me have any!!!! A cruel, cruel world!!!!!:(
sorry again,

The die has been cast, or should i say the moves put in...and then it starts to work and i get emails. I wish to throttle technology sometimes. Good Luck in the spring everyone

It is ironically fitting that the Italian should hop in bed with the Tsar with this dastardly positioning against Trieste. Very well then: prepare for war.

...Quoth Carolus Magnus on the battlefield, while vainly trying to regroup the scattered troops of the retreating First Army after it was defeated in the hills of Burgundy by German forces.

The French Second army could not get to the battlefield soon enough to make a difference, for it had been busy pacifying rebel forces in Spain, and only got as far North as the vineyards of Gascony before word reached them that the battle was already over. The French Mediterranean fleet, took over the task in their absence and has confirmed reports that it has secured the last of the rebel coastal fortifications, finally ending the Spanish resistance.

The only positive outcome about the French loss was the ability of the Third Army, stationed in Paris, to screen the First's retreat into Picardy and thus allow the bulk of the forces to survive and regroup - and also to retrieve most of the field artillery that that had been left behind; this will be key for the anticipated French counter-attack, come Summer.

Meanwhile, The French Atlantic Fleet has reported exchanging volleys with British gunboats just off the coast of Normandy, adding deadly fanfare to the arrival of war to the West, a year after it began in the East.

********************

(EDIT: since I was the only lucky soul to have to retreat a unit, I figured it couldn't do any harm to announce it as part of my public press release.)

*ripping off Magnus :p*

Since the incursion of Austrian territory into Galicia by Russian forces, Austria has been on a war footing. The ink on the Austro-Italian mutual protection pact was not yet dry before Italian ships in the Ionian and the Venice army division moved to the de-militarized zones of the Adriatic Sea and Tyrolia.
The joy for the Turks and their success in Rumania and the destruction of the entire Russian Black Sea fleet is hurt by this sorrowful Italian stab against Austria. While the French scurry to re-organize from the defeat in Burgundy, the Austrians scurry to organize against the set up Italian move on Trieste.

In an interview with the Archduke, he stated that thankfully the Austrians had early news of the Italian stab and were able to prepare for it as necessary, despite their lies of planned attacks on France. However, he did not disclose how this information was come upon.

"Thank god we had time to prepare," the Archduke said. "Without the prior information, Trieste would be at the mercy of the treacherous Italians."

The Austrians continue to prepare for battle in Trieste and consult their allies for help in their other theatres.

The Archduke has scheduled a mass at the Vienna cathedral for the soldiers and sailors in the imperial regiments of the empire. He has invited Sultan Snefix, Chancellor Shakey, King Magnus, and Queen Ambuel to attend in Vienna or in their local churches.

Yo, Toasty, nice story, but I can't read it until I get your orders schnell! Italy - Civdip 002! The deadline is, well, gone, about 1 hour 19 minutes ago...

Magnus, you're playing France, right? That's an interesting definition of "good" you've got there!

Once again great sacrifices have been demanded from our people, [punch] in defense of the fatherland. Their efforts have helped to restore our temporarily invaded lands of the Crimea. The Crimean War is over. Double-rations of vodka are being administered to the brave townspeople, and their liberators are enjoying a fine dance.

Rally, people, and nations against this menace of the pan-religious Austro-Turk pact. The Anatolian War will now begin!:shottie:
