The first half of the game of Survivor is played in teams -- two teams compete against each other for "immunity" in a series of challenges. After each challenge, the losing team has to go to "tribal council" and evict one of it's members. Since this game has 20 players, there will be eight team immunity challenges before the tribes merge and immunity becomes an individual challenge.
In Civfanatics Survivor, team immunity is determined by playing a game (a modified version of Rocks-Scissors-Paper) called Sling-Spear-Shield. Every day at 3PM EST, Archer tallies up all entries and determines a winning tribe. Your primary responsibility in the first part of the game is to submit a weapon (or Weapon of Choice) before 3PM EST every day.
Archer tallies the daily vote seven hours later, at 10PM EST. If you tribe has lost the days immunity challenge, it is (generally) to your advantage to participate in the vote. The daily vote is truly the heart of Survivor... The game is all about forging and re-forging successful alliances. You can vote for anyone who does not have immunity (at this point in the game only the losing tribe in the days challenge can vote or be voted off.) The wise player plans his or her vote along with conspirators.
To play the game all you have to do is to pop in ONCE per day, after Archer has posted the day's immunity challenge results but before the vote. (Roughly, between 3PM and 10PM EST.)
1) See who lost.
2) If your team lost, vote for someone.
3) Regardless of who won or lost, at this time submit your Weapon of Choice for tomorrow's challenge.
If most players log on at that time, it's a great opportunity to conspire on who you'll vote for (via PM.)
