Civics @ 1740 AD

How many turns does it cost? Like I post in tech-fred, i vote for railroad quick, 2 or more turns anarchy is not so good.

Sure, sounds good. Everyone agreed on that?

Agree on Civics change, though I would have liked Universal Suffrage in place of Representation.

Actually it's quite intriguing.

Representation and Mercantilism goes together, yet Emancipation and Free Speech encourages cottages, which is put to good use through Universal Suffrage.

Interesting.

Hybrid economy for the win! :D

representation+statue of liberty+mercantilism seem like a good combination to keep for the whole game.

I was going to say that one of the advantages of mercantilism as compared to free market is that when we get no trade routes with foreign civs they get no trade routes with us, so we are therefore weakening their economies by choosing mercantilism.

However, hurting their economies doesn't really help us win faster... in fact if they research fairly quickly and we exchange our valuable techs for their valuable techs, we will still cream them in terms of producing spaceship parts, because we have more cities. Trading techs around is a way to make the end of a spacerace game come quicker.
