Currently, I can not uninstall, repair or modify civilization 3 conquests.

I used it two days ago and after user account controls were added on it's basically gone off the walls. When I try and start a new game in civ it gives me a message saying Scenario invalid and then crashes at 72 percent loaded.

I've tried going into the program and checking off read only on a file I saw from another forum solution to this problem. When trying this on other folders I get the same issue I ran into repairing installing etc.

Try deleting it by brute force, remove the whole folder, if not working remove file after file to see what ain't go. Then immediately go to the backups and remove it from there also (I had this problem with vanilla, I uninstalled it but it remained on backups and continued working so need to search hidden files to locate it) then install the game in a new folder, the game is robust and can be installed in any folder on the hard drive to work, not only on program files, just create a correct shortcut afterwards.

on vista and windows 7 there is some forsaken place on the hard drive which is hidden that holds additional copy of most programs in the program files folder, mere uninstall redirects all shortcuts to there.

Also check that your account is administrator type.

Sounds like you have 'Guest' privileges, not Admin privileges.

Which Operating System are you using?

Doesn't Windows have its own install/uninstall option?

Some versions of windows have a unique scheme for protection of files, in that you have to have the proper level of authority to write or delete in certain folders, such as Program Files x86 in
Win7.
