tomekum updated Civilization IV Remaster (aka Civ 6 tileset) with a new update entry:

New look and bugfixes

- added dune waves for desert
- made tiles more blurry for smoother transitions
- changed ocean color to dark blue
- added generic detail texture for most of the tiles
- fixed gridlines for all tile types and made them thicker. Also the gridlines on ocean are white for better contrast
- changed FOV to 50 to make perspective more isometric and less over the top
- bugfix: decreased city screen camera zoom which prevented seeing top tiles

Also. Just posted a new update which changes the city bar to have more colour and look more modern.
Looks good.
Maybe the "production turns left" number would look better in the lower left corner instead of the upper right.

Thanks. That's a good idea. I was wondering where to put it so it would be still visible. Maybe I will change it in next update.
And maybe make the number a bit bigger too...

Is it just me or does everything look kind of smooth in a bad way. Like too much anti aliasing blurred the images.

Yes, the smoothing of textures was deliberate. My goal with this mod is to make the game look more easy to look at. Less detailed textures makes the graphics less busy and thus more clear. Also I like more vivid colors it's easier to distinguish whether the tile is desert or plains in this mod compared to vanilla textures.

I see. I personally find the blur to be painful on my eyes. As in literally. It just looks oversmoothed in a way that resembles how I see the world when I take off my glasses. And that triggers my brain to go into full dissonance mode and just want to look away hard. Like, I actually can't physically look at those screenshots for more than 2-3 seconds. That is why I asked if it was deliberate.

But this is a matter of taste and I am sure other people with better eyesight will enjoy it I'll leave you to it. After all, more options are always better than less. So good luck with your project.

Actually after playing the game for a bit the some textures, especially grassland and coast are indeed too blurry. I tweaked some of the textures and they should look a bit less blurry :) Thanks for pointing that out.

Also I have toned down gridlines a bit as they were standing out too much.

This does make the city names easy to read. I don't think the font is actually larger, but the closer camera distance seems to help and replacing the orange food bar with a dark background helps a lot. Good decision for this mod; for my own, I wouldn't want to change things up this much. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem possible to change the color of the city name – <color> tags inserted by CvGameTextMgr::buildCityBillboardCityNameString seem to be ignored. I've already darkened the food color a bit at an earlier time, but that only helped to an extent. Anyway, nice that you're working on this again, breaking new ground.
